Viral marketing is a methods of list building

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

One of the biggest challenges any new business owner will face is dealing with the threat of new competitors who want to get a piece of your market.

This is something that you cannot get away from when in business so forming a powerful strategy even before you start up is very important in order for your business to be successful in the long term.

Additionally it is not only very important to know and understand your direct competition but you also need to now about indirect competitors in your market. Using the internet to spy on your competition is a very powerful marketing strategy.

Nearly all the goods that are available on the market have substitutes and compliments. An example is if someone wanted to purchase some powered detergent if she or he could not find any in the supermarket they can then probably decide to buy liquid detergent instead. This is also true for any type of industry because customers will always be able to find substitutes for services and products that they can't find. We also need to consider having a very effective distribution system that will allow you to reach targeted customers where they are located; this will greatly increase your money earning potential. It is also a very good idea to always check out the features of your competitors' products, the quality and price range that they offer.

Being aware of the weaknesses and strength of you competition and comparing it with your own will give you the opportunity to put in place strategies that will allow you to effectively compete in your marketplace. You would want to concentrate on your good points and try to take advantage of your competitors' weak points. Remember your competition would be doing the same to you, they would try to point out your weak points to your customers to try to improve there market share.

In addition to your present competition, you should also consider future competition because it is very possible that new competitors will try to enter your market in a couple of years. You can visit blogs, forums and chatrooms that are related to your particular market to keep up with new trends, technologies and potential threats to your business. Having a very strong strategy and a loyal customer base will enable your online home business to survive all these potential challenges. Most new businesses put there emphasis on a low price range and this could either be a good or a bad for your business.

An example of this is that it can be great if the product that new competition is offering has a lower price but if it is of a poor quality this will establish your product as a superior good or product.

But, if they are offering better good and services at a much lower price, then you might need to get involved in a price war. Never forget that your strategy should always depend on the particular situation and perception of your market. One of the most common misconception about article marketing is that submitting the same articles to to other directories site will result in the duplicate content penalty.

What is the duplicate content penalty?

This has been created by Google to prevent websites to have the same content several pages on their web pages.

In fact, it's not really a penalty. What will happen is that the strongest page will appear in the serps while the pages flagged as duplicate content will not appear in the search result pages whenever someone search for a keyword.

In theory, the most relevant page should be returned.

Duplicate content is about having the same content on other pages of your own website, not on other people's website.

But the search engines need money. Actually, they need a lot of millions.

And if every single website on Google has the very same page, they are going to lose money because people will head over Yahoo or other search engines. And advertisers will follow them in the process.

That's why you need to write original articles. Don't listen to all the bad advice out there. People who create softwares who create articles or full websites in five minutes or other spinner sites.

This is a short lived strategy and it's not the purpose of your articles. You wrote these original articles to attract readers into your marketing funnel.

With low cost articles, you are not going to make any money on the backend. Think about it... Your articles are going to stay on the Internet for years with your name.

Why not taking the time to give quality to your readers? If you can't, you can still outsource.

If you are doing internet marketing, you cannot possibly not include article writing on your marketing strategies. Why? Because this is the most effective method in building your credibility online that can promote rapport and trust among your potential clients.

Here are the 4 profitable steps to explode your article writing:

1. Know your audience. Before you can offer sound solutions to your potential clients, you need to know first their pressing issues. That is why, it is very important to get to know the people to whom you are writing for before you even tap on your key board. Identify their needs and the information they require so you can make your content highly targeted to their demands.

2. Avoid redundancy. Steer clear from presenting the same information on your articles as this can be considered waste of time for your readers. It also communicates a strong message that you don't have enough information to share and you have to resort to repeating the same information just to meet your article's word count.

3. Write about topics that can attract quality traffic to your website. If you are selling mobile phones, writing about laptops and computers can give you traffic, but is it quality traffic? You will be able to attract online users who are most likely not to consider buying your products. So, write about topics that are highly relevant to what you sell to augment your sales potential.

4. Proofread, edit, and revise. As they say, there is no perfect writing, only perfect editing as it is virtually impossible for any writer to not commit a single mistake when he or she writes the first draft. Strive to provide your readers with flawless content by manually proofreading and revising your articles before you post them online.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is

Providing quality content to your readers is golden and article marketing has been a proven marketing method many times over.

Writing informative articles is not the only way that article marketing will help your business:

1. Free Content

As for me I blog a lot, run several sites and coming up with posts seems impossible some days.

That's when I start to research articles that closely match my sites niche and use them as blog posts.

Email the author of the article and let them know you used their content including a link directly to their article.

2. Newsletters

Use articles to send out in newsletters.

Again I sometimes come up short with ideas for newsletters or would rather delegate the writing to someone else.

Keep your readers engaged by sending out regular newsletters with quality information and articles.

3. Start Your Own Article Directory

There are several ways that you can start your own article directory and one kickback is to make money from advertisements.

If you like your site more personalized you can hire a web designer to create one for you if you don't know how to already.

Search for free software or customizable templates that are actual article directory that you can create.

You can do what I do because I'm big on blogging so I made a mini directory as a part of one of my marketing blogs: Urban Writ

4. Ad Copy

An attention getting article can be used in web or print advertising. Post the article as a teaser and let readers know that they can find 'more information like this' at your website.

5. E-Zines

Search for articles that contain valuable content that your readers can appreciate. Instead of contacting the author to offer a guest spot use a series of their articles over a period of time.

Hidden Perks

Other benefits of using pre-written articles is the use of key phrases. A well written article may rank high for search engines and bring your web site to front page.

Sending the authors some traffic for work they have already done may get you some return traffic from their site.

Readers have the opportunity to deviate from your site by clicking the links in the resource box of the article. Keep in mind the time saved writing can be used to build your business instead.

Viral marketing is a methods of list building

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

Well actually, linking isn't fun at all. In fact, it's quite tedious. Seeking, responding to requests and adding links takes time and effort. But, if you're not actively building links the RIGHT way you are going to be left behind. In other words, your site will be "Lost in Cyberspace". The plain fact is Google, and to a lesser extent, other important search engines, reward sites with links from relevant and important pages.

If you want your site to deliver lots of targeted search engine traffic (and who doesn't?) there are two equally important factors:

1) lots of keyword-rich, search engine friendly content
2) lots of relevant, incoming links from the RIGHT sources

For real success you need to cover BOTH of these strategies. Don't concentrate on one and not the other.

So, how do you go about building your links? It's not rocket science, but as I said, it does take time and effort. From my own experiences, here's what you should do:

1) Download and install the Google Toolbar:

http://toolbar.google.com/

This will show you the PageRank of the page you are viewing. PageRank is a measure, rated from 1 to 10, of the "importance" that Google gives to that page. There has been a lot written about PageRank. You don't need to become obsessed with it but it IS an important consideration when determining WHO to link to. A link from a PR-5 page is worth FAR more than a PR-0 page.

2) Establish a resource or links directory for your site. This lets potential link partners see that you are willing to exchange links. You should make it clear on your links pages what your linking policy is i.e. under what conditions you will agree to exchange links.

3) Your aim should be to build a resource directory that is relevent to your business. Don't try to build a mini Yahoo with umpteen different categories. Keep your directory focussed on your site theme. When you first start out you will be inclined to link to anybody in exchange for a link FROM anybody. This is a mistake. Be patient and choose your link partners carefully.

4) Before requesting a link from another site, add that site to your directory. Contact the webmaster and tell them you added their link because you believe their site would be of interest to your visitors (and so it should). Give the url where your link is located and ask for a return link, along with instructions on how you would like your link worded. NEVER demand by saying things like "if you do not link to us we will remove your link".

5) If you have not received a reply after 2 - 3 weeks send a polite follow up. Again, don't demand. No one is under any obligation to link to you. If you do not receive a reply to your second request it means that the webmaster does not want to link to you, or they are simply too busy to respond. In that case, leave it and move on. I receive dozens of link requests a day. Sometimes it takes me many weeks to get around to responding. You'll go mad worrying about links that have not been reciprocated. Your time is better spent.

6) When you receive a link request visit the site and check that it meets with your requirements as set down on your link pages. Is it a quality site with good content or just a "link farm"? If it doesn't meet your requirements don't link to it.

The webmaster SHOULD have already linked to your site but be prepared to overlook that breech of linking protocol if it's from a good quality, high PR site.

7) Beware of webmasters who add your site to their "directory" which turns out to nothing but a link farm i.e. has no useful content, just a bunch of links, and asks you to link to an entirely different site, one that HAS good content. These webmasters are playing you for a sucker. The benefit is all theirs.

8) As I said in point #1, links from high PR pages are worth more than links from low or no PR pages. Seek out high PR linking partners but keep in mind it is the PR of the actual page your link is on that matters, NOT the PR of the home page. In other words if the home page PR is 5, but the page your link is on is several layers deep in the directory, it will probably have a PR of 0 and be of little benefit to you. Check the PR of the actual page your link is on, or is going to be on, before agreeing to exchange links.

Each page on your links directory should be no more than one click away from your home page, and your linking partner's site should be the same. If your link is placed on a page which looks something like this - directory/category/subcategory/subcategory with your link - you will derive NO value from that link.

9) Be prepared to negotiate your links. Savvy webmasters understand the value of links from high PR pages. If you add a link to a PR-0 page on your site don't expect your link partner to put your link on a PR-6 page, and your link partner shouldn't expect the same from you. Exchange value for like value.

When you first start out your site may not have any PR due to a lack of incoming links. This reduces your bargaining power. However, you can overcome this by getting your site listed in as many large business directories as possible. Some of these you will have to pay, such as Yahoo and Microsoft's Business Directory, but many others are free. You'll find a good list here:

http://www.strongestlinks.com/directories.php

10) Be specific about how you want your link partner to link to you. It is MOST important that the link to you contain your targeted keywords in the anchor (linked) text. When I ask for a link to my site I don't want the link title to be:

Steve Pronger Web Business Solutions

Instead, I ask for:

Website Designer Australia

or whichever keywords I am targeting at the time.

11) And finally, here is an excellent resource to help you find quality link partners. It's called Value Exchange, and will put you in contact with like-minded webmasters:

A powerful tool to build your small business whether it be an online business or an offline business is through article marketing. In this article, I will provide you with several steps that will help you reach your potential customers.

The first step in writing an article is picking a specific topic about your business that would have interest to your customers. For example, if you paint houses, a good topics for an article is "choosing the right colors for your home" or "the best way to find a reputable home painter". Here's another example related to a unique service I saw advertised on the window of a car driving next to me. The service was organizing a slumber party. It made me curious and I really wanted to know more about it. The owner might write an article about the pitfalls of having a slumber party or the key steps to organizing a fun-filled slumber party.

The idea here is to write something useful but not overwhelm the reader with too much information.

Once you have written your article, you complete it with a call to action. This is your opportunity to give the reader a chance to start a relationship with you. A call to action will include one or two links to your web page. The link you provide should take the reader to either a free report or something that you think they will find useful. It should also have similar content to what your original article was about.

Once you have the reader follow through with a call to action hopefully you will have captured their information and you able you are able start relationship with them. The type of information you provide and capture will vary between businesses. The painter might want to capture a phone number and reach out to the person so he can provide more information and answer questions. The slumber party organizer may have the reader sign up to a seven-day eCourse explaining the process for organizing a great and safe slumber party.

In closing, article marketing can be an extremely effective ways to build a small business. Give it a try today!

If you are reading this, then I assume you may want to purchase keyword elite. In this article I'm going to explain what the application is about and whether you really need it or not. Ultimately the decision will be down to you.

On first glance, it would seem that keyword elite is just an application for suggesting keyword phrases, this is something that can be done in less expensive or even free resources already so why the extra cost. Well, the reason for this is keyword elite is actually 5 applications in one performing various tasks to help you with Internet Marketing.

As the software's author Brad Callen will tell you, you could perform all the tasks manually that Keyword Elite can do but when you read his full explanations of how to do it, you soon realize just what a mammoth task it would be. The main purpose of the application is to save you hours a day of research.

One of the features that catches everybody's attention straight away is the way it can sneakily show what people are bidding for their keyword phrases to be advertised in Google. This means you can quickly see which phrases are profitable around which you could build your website. As people click on your adverts, you then get paid a percentage for every click.

The tool itself for suggesting the keywords is very easy to use and very powerful. You can type a very broad keyword and it will suggest phrases around that word on which you can look up the search stats and bidding prices. It can spit out literally 1000s of keyword phrases you would never have thought of yourself.

One thing though that can happen to a person who starts using the application, is they rely too heavily on the keywords it produces and forgets about the person who is actually performing the searches on the Internet. Yeah, I know it sounds shocking but there are actually real live people at the other end typing these keywords into Google. Therefore, think to yourself, if you were to search for a product or piece of information, what would you type in yourself. Then, enter this into Keyword Elite and it will give you toms of variations.

So, if you do purchase keyword elite, you will find it will vastly improve your prospects, but please don't forget to use one of the best and free keyword generators as well... your brain!

Let me tell you my story, why the question whether to purchase keyword elite fast was a no brainer after paying for itself after two months. Or you may want to click here to receive my FREE Course on how to get a head start with the application. Quickly, time is money!

White hat SEO (or ethical SEO if you like) is often argued to be not as successful as 'black hat' SEO. Proponents of black hat optimisation have even gone so far as saying that using black hat they can easily out rank any white hat SEO'd site.

Whilst it may be true that Black Hat techniques certainly can have a more rapid and dramatic effect on raising the Google ranking of a site, this has to be weighed against the fact that if discovered the site may well be penalised, or banned altogether.

This is not even considering any moral issues with black hat SEO. Even if the shady SEO techniques used are not detectable by Google at present, some black hatters seem to take that to mean that they can get away with dodgy dealings...

This argument is flawed! Sooner or later the chances are that Google will detect their exploits, and act accordingly. Recently for example, Google decided to try to target people that are selling links for the purpose of manipulating PageRank for their clients. Many people have since lost their own PageRank because of this.

Link selling is often considered grey hat by many, so imagine what would happen to a site that got caught committing what Google would consider real black hat! (Such as cloaked pages etc)

Even if white hat SEO techniques may take longer to have an effect, long term ethical SEO is the best option for most sites. Positions gained through ethical SEO are more likely to be maintained for longer, and bring you better quality traffic. - But that's just my opinion as a white hatter.

Where Not To Acquire Links For SEO

We've all heard the popular children's playtime rhyme "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me."

While this may have been true in elementary school, it's definitely not true in the search engine optimization (SEO) game. Why? Because as much we'd prefer not to believe it, search engine algorithms are evolving at an incredible rate, so much so that their ranking algorithms have grown sophisticated enough to evaluate web sites on on the basis of what sites they're connected to.

There's no doubt that link building is a critical component to successful search engine optimization. The reason link building is so important to achieving high organic positioning is that all the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Ask) use link related variables in their ranking algorithms, the complex equations that evaluate a site on a myriad of factors and then use this data to determine which sites appear where on the results pages.

So what incoming link related variables do the search engine algorithms consider?

- Number of Links

- Quality/Origin of Links

- Relevance of Links

- Anchor Text Within Links

- Links Must Present Value to Users

Yet not every link helps. In this article, I'm going to discuss some key concepts related to link building, but more importantly, where not to build links.

As you've read, links are an important aspect of SEO. But not just any link. In fact, the wrong links can hurt you, badly. Now, I'll lay out some false link "opportunities" to avoid, in the process explaining why not every link is a good one, and how some can do far more harm than good.

With growth of search engines, "spamming" has become a serious issue. There are so called "Black Hat SEO" tactics, unfair and unethical methods used to achieve search engine results using certain techniques to influence search engine algorithms.

While the results of Black Hat SEO can be lucrative, eventually they most certainly will result in loss of ranking, or even a black listing of your site (when search engines permanently stop displaying your website in the results).

Now that you're familiar with Black Hat SEO tactics, I'll begin to explore what constitutes valued links in the eyes of the search engines.

But first and foremost, I'll state the First Commandment of link building as passed down from the Pantheon of Search Gods: Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Ask.

LINKS MUST PRESENT USERS WITH REAL, TANGIBLE VALUE.

This renders the definition of a "valuable link" (one that boosts organic positioning) as a link that presents users with relevant information from reputable sources. The definition of the word "link" itself provides additional insight into the way these tools were intended to be used in an online atmosphere. A link is a connection that bonds two separate parts together to form a whole. Links can also be units in a communication system, and thus, should remain relevant, focused, and informational.

So what types of links should you avoid?

- Avoid Links Farms

- Avoid FFA's (Free-For-All sites)

- Avoid Irrelevant Links

- Avoid Reciprocal Links (in most cases)

- Avoid Links to Sites with Lower PageRank

- Avoid Vague Links

- Avoid JavaScrpit redirects

- Avoid Domain Spam and Duplicate Domains

- Never Pay For Links

This brings us to our first SEO no-no. Avoid link farms. These are sites which sell links, often to the tune of "100 links for $100" or something like that. While they were popular in the 1990s before the search engines realized what was happening and added algorithmic countermeasures, now they are essentially worthless, and in many cases, malignant.

Because all the search engines analyze the source of the incoming link, they are all digitally conscious of the reputation these linking sites maintain. If Google, for instance, knows that 50 of your 100 incoming links are coming from known link farms, you'll no doubt incur a heavy penalty that will keep your site out of the top twenty positions. Instead, your site will sit helplessly in a state of online purgatory, stuck somewhere neither here nor there until it atones for its sins against the user.

Your website will no doubt incur the same fate if you participate in FFAs, or Free-For-All sites, which have hundreds of links on each page. The major engines have evolved to penalize this tactic, and now discount links originating on pages that contain a high number of links. So avoid "Link Pages" on your site because the engines may think you're link spamming.

Along the same lines, avoid irrelevant links. But what makes a link irrelevant? An irrelevant link is one that is not related to the content or contextual theme of your website. For example, a link from a computer manufacturing company to a software developer would be relevant, while a link from either of these companies to an auto parts site would not. The major engines are conscious of the content and theme of a page, and they know when sites are simply trading irrelevant links in hopes of increasing their rankings. If anything, such exchanges will only hurt positioning.

These types of traded links are known as reciprocal links due to the fact that they're exchanged, returned, and thus mutually beneficial. But reciprocal links must be relevant and useful or they'll incur penalties.

In many cases, you'll also want to avoid linking to sites with a lower PageRank than your own. This can be seen as additional link spamming, so make sure your reciprocated links are highly relevant. If they are, the PageRank of the link partner shouldn't be your primary concern, as it still presents value to the user.

Another thing to avoid is "vague" links, or links that lack any kind of descriptive anchor text. Anchor text is the underlined, often blue-colored text that indicates the existence of a link. The major engines use this anchor text as a determinant for relevancy, comparing the anchor text to the content of the page the link points to. That's why you want to avoid vague terms when creating links. For more information on anchor text and a list of link building strategies that will help your SEO efforts, click here

For example, if you own a trucking company in Denver, you'd want incoming links to say something targeted like "Colorado Trucking Services - ABC Transportation Company" instead of something like "Denver Trucking." This way, the search engines not only get a better idea of what your site is about and the services your company offers, but users have a more complete understanding of where this link will take them if they click it. Don't make links that require guesswork, or users won't click them. We all want to know where we're going before we leave, so make sure users don't have to surf with a digital blindfold when they interact with your site. Chances are, if you don't optimize your anchor text, users won't click the link.

Yet another tactic to avoid is JavaScript redirects, in which users are sent to a page other than the one they're expecting. Not only do these redirects infuriate users and waste their time, but the search engines have known to take punitive action as webmasters try to "pull a fast one" on them.

Finally, never use domain spam or duplicate domains, which occur when you have multiple domain names redirecting to the same website. Like JavaScript redirects, the search engines are aware of this tactic, and they don't tolerate it.

All of these "Black Hat" strategies may have worked effectively in the past despite their ethical shortcomings, but the name of the game in search engine optimization is innovation. The major search engines are dedicated to providing the most relevant and helpful results to their users, and thus, they look down upon any attempt that would make their search algorithms less effective. "White Hat SEO" is the best way to go for sustainable, long-term results. If you employ "Black Hat" strategies, you're more than likely to get your site "black-listed" from the search results, meaning it will never appear again. And even if that hasn't happened yet, as the search engines continue to evolve it may happen soon.

With Black Hat, you're playing to the tide; no matter what you do, you can't stop it. The waves of change will rush in and destroy your "castle made of sand," eventually.

Moral of the story: Provide users with valuable links that enhance their user experience. If you do, you'll create a loyal user base and the search engines will reward your efforts to improve the domain of online search and the indexability of information. If you don't, chances are you won't be around for long.

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

With information technology on the rise and gaining relevance in the world today, article marketing has become a significant tool to promote businesses on the Internet. While it is well-known that articles make consumers understand a product better, a well-written article can be one of the main reasons why any product sells. These days, article marketing is so advanced that it has become the foremost advertising strategy for many online businesses.

Central to the effectiveness of article marketing is the implementation of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). The primary function of this form of article writing is to achieve prominent rankings on the search engines by utilizing keywords which are popular among Internet users. When a user enters a search term which is identical to your keyword, the web page of your article will be displayed as a search result. With effective SEO strategies, you can rank among the top search results and benefit from a steady flow of incoming traffic, which will ultimately lead to increased sales.

Due to the fact that SEO article writing involves a great deal of research and expertise, most website owners prefer to employ SEO experts to manage their web content. These specialized professionals will provide you keyword-rich articles that will dramatically improve the visibility of your website and win customers over with their convincing content. SEO article marketing is such a proven success in the world of online business that many website owners are willing to hire the services of top SEO experts to help them launch their businesses into greater heights of profitability.

Other than its overall contribution to the betterment of sales, article marketing also brings professionalism and prestige to your website. With comprehensive articles that offer expert information about your products, your website will be widely regarded as an authoritative entity. It will assume a position as the favored destination for consumers seeking specialized knowledge pertaining to your products. As your reputation grows, your brand will be established as a trusted name in the business and this will in turn translate to a long-term influx of web traffic.

Compared to other forms of online advertisements which incur quite a substantial amount of financial investment, article marketing is basically free advertising. Since your articles are included in the information base of search engines, they will automatically show up whenever a search term coincides with one or few of their keywords. In a way, an article is a living advertisement implemented on the Internet and it grows in recognition from time to time, without you having to pay extra for each and every appearance. Viral marketing is a methods of list building

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

Attracting large numbers of ezines and webmasters is the cornerstone of success for any article marketing program. The more sites that publish your work, the more money you will make. If twenty ezines publish your article, it can get 20,000 page views. The question is, how do you entice these influential ezines. Use the following techniques to polish your article for these influential publishers.

Put all of your links in the resource box. Self-serving links in the body of the article is a definite turn-off for ezines and webmasters. Keep all of your links in the resource box.

Don't try to load up your resource box with links from every affiliate you deal with. One or two well thought out links will serve you much better than four or five.

Do a thorough spelling and grammar check on your work. Most word processors come with one, make sure you use it. In addition, do a slow and careful proofreading of your article. Your spelling checker will identify the word "kite" as being spelled correctly, even though you intended to type the word "kit." Only a thorough reading will find this kind of error.

Space your article by separating it into a number of different paragraphs. It makes it easier to read from the computer screen and creates less eye-strain.

Keep your personal life history to yourself. No one really cares where you went to school or how many kids you have. Stay focused on the core information that your article provides.

Provide targeted information rather than broad generalities. Unless it is a new concept, most people are not looking for broad generalities. They want specific details. Articles that explain the what, where, why, and how of a concept are much more widely distributed than articles than ramble on about generalities.

Most ezines and webmasters want to provide their readers with the best product possible. They want readers to come back next week and the week after that. With so many articles to choose from, ezines can afford to be choosy. Ezines and webmasters will choose the best article possible that minimizes mistakes and maximizes information. Provide a quality product that satisfies these goals and you may attract large numbers of ezines.

Getting top 10 Google rankings is not rocket science. It is simple keyword and linking research. Here is a step by step process that will have you ranking in the top 10 of Google in no time.

Step 1: Develop a Keyword List

This is the easiest part. Starting with single word terms like, 'education' and 'teaching', develop a keyword list. There are several free keyword tools available on the internet. I prefer SEOBook's free keyword research tool. To do this research, I would have two windows open both with the keyword research tool. I'd search 'education' in one and 'teaching' in the other. I'm not even going to try and rank for 'teaching' and 'education'. That would be impossible. However, I'm interested in the phrases that contain these words.

Step2: Analyzing Competition

The vast majority of 'experts' out there are going about this one all wrong. These people will type a key phrase into Google and then see how many pages are indexed for the that phrase. If there are a lot, they disregard it and keep looking. This number is not a reliable indicator of whether or not you can rank in the top 10 of Google for that phrase.

So what it is? If you guessed page rank you are wrong again. Though to be fair, page rank does have a little to do with it. The most important factor that determines your ranking in the search engines is the number of incoming links you have. So, how do you analyze the competition?

To determine if you can rank in the top 10 you need to first search the term you want to rank for in Google. Then, analyze, one by one, the sites in the top for the number of bank links coming into them. There are several ways to do this, including using SEO software, Yahoo! Sitesearch or special SEO browser plugins that are usually free. There is a Hubpage (link below) that provides a step-by-step guide using a great called SEOQuake, a free SEO browser plugin, to quickly see how many back links are coming in to each of the sites in the top ten.

Step 3: Determine Your Link Building Ability

After you know how many links are coming into the site in the top ten, you need to determine if you can get more than any of those 10 sites. That all you need to do, in combination with some on-page factors, to beat out the sites in the top ten.

Typically, it shouldn't be hard to build 100 links into a page with a little hard work. If you think you can get more than 100 links then you can go for some more competitive terms.

The last step is to build the web page based on the keyword and then start building links. Following this simple approach is all it take to find keywords that you can easily rank in the top ten of Google with. Good luck.
