Article Marketing - Why My Articles Disappear From Google First Page After A Couple Of Weeks?

If you are wondering why your articles disappear a couple of weeks after they hit the first page of Google, you want to read this article.

Many people wonder were is this 'magic' lifetime traffic everyone is talking about, but the problem is that they start with highly competitive niches like Internet marketing or make money online.

Should you submit articles with the same keywords again and again or you need to alternate the keywords for different articles?

Or do you need to ignore those keyphrases since you know that your articles won't last long in the different search engines?

First, your rankings have a lot to see with the keyword you choose for your articles.

Secondly, it depends on your niche as well. For example, when you start with one of the most competitive niches, you have thousands and thousands of competitors submitting articles with the exact same keywords.

I am not saying that you can't make money in a competitive niche. You can, but other niches are not so crowded and your articles will be found more often in the search engines.

I would advise to vary the keywords you are targeting. Plus you don't need to always write with your keywords in mind. The more articles you get out there, the more income.

As for articles disappearing for the search results after a couple of weeks, this is normal. Competition is one of the factor that affect your rankings. Plus you also have an initial boost when you are on the first page of the article directory.

But remember, it's a web page and every single web page need a lot of incoming links to rank well.

Keep writing articles with great keywords and long tails as well. Don't give up. Remember that article marketing works very well for smaller niche.

To find more great keywords for your articles, you need to use the wordtracker tool. They have a free trial as well.

Article Marketing - Write Your Way Into Search Results - Traffic And $$$

In my regular scouring of the internet marketing do's and don'ts, I come across an endless sea of opinions, many of them contradictory of other opinions by internet marketers and gurus. You may have seen something like what I'm referring to. Some internet marketers will tell you "Adsense is dead", while others assure you that "There's still life in Adsense and other Pay Per Click programs!" One of the topics that has come to my attention recently is regarding the use of articles to raise the search ranking of your website and do some honest to goodness SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

There are several aspects to SEO, of course. This article takes a look at articles and how their content can be used to your advantage to build your website popularity.

One opinion I've seen time and time again that has been trumpeted by scores of marketers, and that has never been contested, is "search engines love content." I'll go a step further and say, "Search engines love original content."

If you want to see what I'm referring to, do a search under "article sites" and see how many directories you pull up. Article directories are out there in droves, keeping a large supply of articles that can be (and usually are) used by people publishing ezines or adding content to their sites. I've submitted articles to several of these sites for free. Here's why submitting articles is a win-win situation:

Win for you: You get to include a "resource box" with your article, which can be a link back to your website (or the affiliate site you are promoting)

Win for them: ezine publishers need to come up with articles every day/week/month. Webmasters want their proverbial "regularly updated content." Article directories give them the ammo they need to keep their updates regular and their content fresh.

Of course, this does mean you will need to write. If you like to write already, great - get started! If writing is about as fun for you as pulling your teeth with rusty jumper cables, all is not lost. My suggestion is to look at sites like Elance (www.elance.com) and look for writers on the topic you want to cover. Elance has a bidding system, which allows you to post a project for bids and let prospective writers bid on it. Once you have your article written, you will need to submit it. There is an endless array of article sites on the web. You can also take a shortcut by trying an article submission tool.

Something else to remember - SEO will take awhile. Even if you have submitted articles, you must give them time to make their way into the hands of those people who will publish them on sites and on the web.

So there you have it - articles help you promote your web site the write way!

What I Learned From Interviewing Lance Winslow - Author Of 10,000 Online Articles

Recently I became aware that one particular author on one of the leading article directories has published more than 10,000 articles, in well under two years! He is by far the most prolific author in this directory, and he has written them all himself!

This gentleman's name is Lance Winslow, and when you start to get an idea of all the things he does, and has done, you realize that he must be close to a genius! Either way, he certainly knows a thing or two about article marketing! So my colleague Peter Cutforth contacted him and asked him if he would be willing to be interviewed. He declined, but offered to answer any questions by email, so he managed to secure an "e-interview" !

Now, this guy is an entrepreneur to entrepreneurs! He is a global leader, and philosopher, and clearly has a huge intellectual capacity as well as highly honed marketing skills.

Here is one of the questions Peter asked Lance:

Peter: With 10,000 articles on one of the leading article directories you hold the position of number 1 most prolific author by many thousands of articles, yet you've only been a Platinum member since end March 2005. Can you tell us what is your approach, what is your 'secret', if you like, to cranking out so many articles? It seems like you write them all yourself, but do you get some outsourced, and if so, what is your approach to this?

Lance: I am having the Guinness Book of World Records verify that I am the all time world record holder for the most articles written on the Internet. Every article is written by me. The secret I suppose is to become a Renaissance Man so to speak and be well-versed in many subjects so that you can write that many articles. I would recommend that anyone wishing to achieve high-quantity in article writing to become an avid reader in at least 20 different industries, all aspects of the human endeavor and maintain a thirst for knowledge. The hardest thing I have found in writing articles is coming up with things to write about and coming up with titles to write on. Most of my articles are literally right off the top of my head now with little or no research, because the information is already up there from all the reading and soaking up information.

Peter asked Lance a question about achieving "critical mass" with article marketing, and his answer should not be missed by any internet marketer! See how to read it for free below:

Authors and Authorities - How Can the Reader Know?

In the online article authoring world there are many different types of folks who write articles and although most of them write in order to use informational marketing to attract customers on the Internet to partake in their goods or services, the total number of reasons that people write articles is truly astounding.

Indeed, I think that anyone who makes this connection is correct in considering that authors write on different subjects for different reason and their points about the author being an expert in one or more fields but not in others also makes sense. For instance for me, I have expertise in Franchising, Small Business, Marketing, Branding, Car Washing, Trucking, Aviation, Technology, Sports Competition, Winning, Philosophy, Humanities, Politics, Economics, Innovation and various related fields. But I write about all sorts of stuff and I would say that those areas I am not so good at, it is a challenge to write a strong article, I am happy with and thus I would not obviously be any kind of expert in those areas.

Many authors believe and I concur that an author can be an expert in some domains, but not all. But how would the reader know this? Should a panel be set up at the top online article submission sites to grade author status as experts? Well, if that is feasible considering the resources involved to look over the articles and considering the "primate politics of panels" then this would solve a problem.

On one of the top online article submission sites, I noticed that there are only 3 pages of authors who have over 100 articles, then starting with only those authors of over 100 articles, it could be done fairly easy. A panel could look at those authors to find out if they were truly experts in various subjects and when they submitted articles to those categories they might be accompanied by a star?

There is a company called "Topix" which has local panels rating news, all volunteers even, and it works fine. If there were only 300 authors to rate, this is easily feasible and eventually maybe it could be taken down to 75 or 50 articles and thus someone to get to the rating system level would have to pony up and write some articles, thus also stretching them to prove they could perform and "SHOW ME" type proof of expert status.

Also remember that the author could submit which categories they feel most qualified in and the group could choose these categories based on their accomplishments in the real world and then "+" their articles? I am a firm believer in real world experience and doing over merely someone who is a "great writer" and can spin a phrase.

Article Marketing - How I Discovered a Gold Mine

Article Marketing for me is like a gold mine. A gold mine because when I write articles and submit them to the right article directory, I make money. Very predictable, and consistent.

Here is how I did it:

When I first got started online, I read something about writing and submitting articles to multiple article directories for the purpose of generating backlinks to my web site.

But through some form of beginners luck or something, I had the good fortune of tracking my links and I found that the bulk of my traffic was coming from the articles that I submitted to the big three article directories. Wow, I thought what if I just submit to the big three and I can focus on writing instead of submitting everywhere? And so that is what I did and my traffic from articles is pretty awesome. And the traffic is direct, from the article directories, rather than from the search engines.

I think the real key for me was realizing that the way to go was with the few article directories that get the most hits, and just work on getting the hits, rather than the search engine rankings. And it has worked out quite nicely for me. I continually rake in thousands of hits per month, directly from the article directories.

Heres what to do:

1) Write keyword optimized articles.

2) Write a good bio, including your link

3) Submit these articles to the top 1-3 article directories online, based on traffic.
