Article Marketing & List Building - Taking Great Care of Your List By Asking About Their Challenges

Q: I've heard you say on a teleseminar "Find what your market wants to know and how they want it delivered." My question is how do I do that, especially if I am on a shoe string budget?

Great question, and I've got great news. You do not have to spend much at all to find out what your list wants. In fact my favorite method is perfect for the shoe string budget.

Just 2 questions

There are two questions to ask the people on your list. You do not have to conduct some fancy kind of campaign in order to do this - all you need to do is ask in an email to the people on your list.

If you ask these two questions, and take action on the answers, you will set yourself apart from 90-95% of the marketers out there.

In an email to the people on your list, you want to ask:

1. What is your biggest challenge? What do you find the most difficult? What keeps you up at night? What is keeping you from achieving the success you desire?

These are all really the same question asked in different ways. Don't assume you know, ask.

Very few of the marketers on the internet, even if the ask the first question, ever ask the second question.

After you have the answer(s) to the first question, then ask:

2. How would you most like the information and solutions delivered to you?

Give them some options. If in text, do they want it in a traditional book, and ebook, an article, etc? If in audio, do they want it on a teleseminar, an audio CD, a downloadable mp3, etc?

You get the picture.

Answer and take action on the answers to these two questions and you will be on your way.

4 Effective Book Marketing Tips

It can be difficult for new authors to create the kind of publicity needed for book sales, though, not impossible. The most effective ways to market a book is to follow these simple tips.

1. Promote daily.

There are number of ways to market your book, and whether you are sending a book for review, lining up an interview with your local papers, or submitting articles to magazines, authors should make daily contacts. Author-Promotion (www.author-promotion.com) is a resource directory for authors -- comprised of articles, marketing tips, and resources on book promotion. It is great way to get started. Youll be surprised at how much you can accomplish if you make a goal to promote each day.

2. Contact small and major publications.

Authors should also contact national newspapers, reviewers, magazines, or other forms of media. Though all forms of marketing have value, the larger your audience or exposure, the easier it is to generate demand for your books. For example: Reader Views - an online book reviewer, publicity and editing service, is a great place for authors to have their books reviewed, but authors should also request book reviews from well-established reviewers such as Publisher Weekly, Boston Globe, Kirkus Reviews, The Denver Post these are merely samples used to illustrate a point. The same example could also be used when referring to submitting articles, getting interviews, etc.

3. It is essential for authors to promote their web sites.

You must market your web site in order to increase traffic. The best way to promote a web site is by having it ranked among the top of major search engines. When submitting a site for inclusion to search engines, authors may want to try the web optimization feature. Be sure to create meta tags and list the proper keywords that fit your product-related web site. Authors can go to (www.submitexpress.com/) to learn more about meta tags, keywords, and web optimization. In addition, authors can use Google AdSense or have their sites listed on business directories (www.directoriezsubmission.com/). Other ways to increase web traffic is through various advertising methods such as flyers, business cards, or having your content listed on vendor sites. You can also submit your site to the Open Directory Project, and promote your site through writing-related forums and groups.

4. Target organizations for book purchases.

The best way to sell large quantities of authors books is by having organizations like libraries, schools, universities, churches buy them. You can find U.S. public libraries listed here: http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/Libweb/Public_main.html, or do an Internet search to find other organizations of your interest. Do not send unsolicited books. Query first, by either phone or email. Suggest your books title for possible purchase and request the appropriate address and department where you can send a sample review copy of your book along with the descriptive publicity materials, including price and relevant purchasing information. To increase sales, it is best not to contact individual libraries or schools, and instead contact the regional library or county school system of that particular area. By following these marketing tips, you will greatly enhance your ability to effectively market your book.

Increase Website Traffic - Get a Website Traffic Increase With Article Marketing

Are you looking for a way to create lasting targeted traffic that will convert into sales? Do you want to build a funnel of traffic to your website, blog, or affiliate links? There is one great way to increase website traffic that is easy and free. You can get a website traffic increase with article marketing by following the steps below.

Start with step one, which is to pick your niche. This can be anything you want, but the best choices are always things that you know something about and have a passion for. After you choose your niche you need to figure out what you are going to write about. You should also set a goal for how many articles you are going to write each week.

The second step is to start writing. You should write and submit one article at a time. It is best to start with 2 or 3 of the top article directories (Ezine Articles, Search Warp, and Go Articles), then after you have wrote and submitted a few articles you can take one and submit it all over the web to every single free article directory you can find.

The last step is to write some more. You will never get the increase in website traffic that you are after if you just write a few articles. You need to be submitting new articles on a regular basis. Articles have a life cycle that starts with a good amount of views and traffic for you right off the bat, then they fall in the directories and your traffic will come slower, but from time to time you will get website traffic increases from newsletters and other sites using your articles.

The article writing and marketing game is not a hard one to play. You will see a real website traffic increase in about a month or two of writing and you will see an increase in website traffic right off the bat when you submit your articles. The best part is articles never go anywhere and the longer they are out there the better chance they will spread across the web and increase your website traffic even more.

Article Marketing - Getting Started In Article Writing

Article marketing has long been touted as an effective strategy for marketing an online business. However, writing many articles and submitting them is easier said than done. One needs to follow a formula so that he will consistently churn out quality articles.

Firstly, you need to have a goal in your article marketing efforts. What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to get direct sales? Are you trying to get leads for your business? Or perhaps you just want to create brand awareness? It is important to state your goals before getting started. This 'streamlines' your article marketing efforts and you won't get distracted by other less important tasks. Having a goal helps you keep focused.

Next, you need to have a schedule for writing your articles. Sure, you can write 10 articles and take the rest of the week off. But it is better to write 2 or 3 articles a day, so you are practicing your craft on a daily basis. This has a knock-on effect on the quality of your articles. Submitting articles consistently also produces great results for your business in the long haul. If you write just 3 articles a day, that comes to about 90 articles a month and 180 after 3 months.

Article directories are free to use, so this is one of the best cost-effective ways to market online. Its a good idea to spend some time reading other articles written by authors in your niche, to get a feel for it and tune your mind to write quality articles.

Article Marketing For Massive Traffic - 3 Of My Biggest Secrets!

Article marketing is not as profitable as before. That's what 'gurus' tend to say to get you afraid. The truth is, although there are more article writers right now, the amount of people surfing the Internet has also increased. So it comes down to the same amount of traffic.

Here are my 3 biggest secrets for getting massive traffic from your article marketing:

1. Always Build A List With Your Opt-In Page

This is what I do - I always build a list by sending traffic from my articles to a opt-in page. I don't send them to a sales page - that just turns most people off. But a squeeze page offering free information is better received. List building is one of the key activities you must be concentrating on online, so direct your traffic to build your list!

2. Submit Only To The Top Directories

Although you can make submitting articles to hundreds of directories quicker with an article submitter, it's still terribly difficult. You have to register at all the directories, and most article directories are different from each other, so that makes article submitting with submitters a slow process still. My advice: submit only to the top 5 directories. Spend more time writing articles.

3. Write In A Conversational Style

Let's face it, as human beings we are emotional beings. We respond better to conversational writing (that's why blogs are so popular!) than boring, technical writing. Unless your subject calls for it, I'd advice writing in a conversational style (like what I'm doing here!) as this will generate windfall results.
