The Importance of Copy in SEO: Ontological Text Recognition

The old days of SEO are gone. Just not too long ago, standard SEO practices would place a site in the graces of the major search engines. Let's examine what these standard techniques are before I venture into the copywriting/ontological part of SEO.

-Clean code and use of a CSS. It is still imperative to write in clean code and avoid proprietary tags or server side extensions such as the ones created/required by certain web design programs. Use a cascading style sheet to reduce attribute clutter.

-Keyword density. The accepted parameters call for keyword presence on each page in order to rank well for the particular term. Too little density and the search engines will not rank the site well and too much will be viewed as spam.

-Unidirectional and reciprocal linking. The more sites linking to one and the better the site will score. Note: reciprocal links are being discounted by Google in particular because of rampant, free for all link exchange abuse. Make sure anchor text reflects the keywords being targeted when conducting a link campaign.

The standard above guidelines are what many SEOs are focusing on to help websites in the top rank arena.

While these are still the basics, we are seeing a a shift in the ranks where sites rank extremely well for a keyword without such term even being present on the page. How is this possible? The only possible explanation is the contextual text relationship or theme of a site.

Google seems to be at the forefront of this technology: the sites that are doing well even for terms that are not present in the text or anchor links are very rich in related content. Also, very important, the site relates to the particular key phrase. Let's try an example: when searching for "market timing", a site is in the top 3 in Google. The site has hundreds of pages indexed and deals with market research for stocks, stock buying and investment decision tools. A human being reading through the site found by searching for market timing will find the site extremely informative and pertinent to the search. Then, how is it possible that Google could rank it high if it is just blindly indexing the text to find the exact keyword? The answer is ontological text recognition. By reading the contextual relationship between words and paragraphs, Google is capable of "understanding" that the site, without mentioning a particular keyword, will be relevant when a user searches for it.

What does this mean for you? Simply put, a lot. Copywriting is king. Well written content, informative article writing in conjunction with standard SEO techniques are the new search optimization reality. It means more work but also the advantage of maintaining more solid ranks over time as no competitor site can just easily tweak some code to rank higher. We have been focusing heavily on this new aspect to find the best way to create user friendly and rich content that will be positively received by search engines and searchers alike.

How To Use Search Engine Optimization to Destroy Your Competition in 3 Easy Steps

Search Engine Optimization - Secrets Revealed.

Let's begin: What is 'competition'? Competition is described as "one that competes", "a rival", "selling or buying goods or sevices in the same market as another", and even down to the biological level - "an organism that lives in competition with another".

SEO & Web - Competitive Landscape.
Increasingly, web surfers are using search engines to find companies, services and goods. Big and smaller companies, are using search engine optimization and search engine marketing techniques to beat their competitors. On the Internet, we are dealing with virtual entities - and we all compete in increasingly tougher and user-aware market places. Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing focuses on building traffic and allowing you to leverage your websites, services and products. Through competitive research, optimal keyword strategies, quality content, link-back neighborhoods and educating yourself on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM), you should be well positioned to beat the competition -- over time.

What options exist for creating revenue online?
A) Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing are two fantastic ways in which you can get visibility on the Internet. Additionally, you can and should include email marketing strategies, with a complete CRM and backoffice process. You can increase visibility and competitive edge hundred-fold. Great content with an intelligent link strategy is vital.

B) Affiliate Marketing Programs. Join and promote these (Mr. Jeff Bezos at Amazon is famous for this). Create one for your company - with potentially exciting and lucrative results. (The merchants, or you - offer affiliates commissions for sales activity generated by the affiliate's web sites).

C) Adsense. A sophisticated affiliate online advertising program from Google. Complimentary Adsense Training Videos are worth a look. However, without search engine marketing and search engine optimization, you are missing out on other huge opportunities for smashing the competition and making large sums online.

D) Adwords. A break-through ad ('sponsored advertising') system from Google that can bring traffic (quality) to your site within 1/2 hour! The complimentary adwords email courses show ways to beat the system, and lessen the frustration on your part. It can get expensive fast.

Create edge and stay competitive with SEO and SEM.
You must have a service or product niche - to create success on the Internet using these 'silent money making engines'. You need to understand that niche marketplaces is how you get there, along with sound search engine optimization and search engine marketing principles, quality content, backlinks and CRM sales backend processes.

Optimization Tip #1: On and off page optimization, what is that, and why is it important?

First of all you need to create a web site that is a related to a niche marketplace. (You already know who your customer is, right!?) It is very important that you do your keyword research first. In fact, competitive research as an action step is missed by over 98% of the online marketplace. There are many great keyword tools and many are free. Keep in mind that Google 'owns' over 50% of the search marketplace. (Yahoo receives about 30% and MSN about 20%). Google is a very important search engine for you to focus on, and I suggest you start with it (even though MSN and Yahoo are great resources - especially the newly launched MSN Adcenter).

Competitive SEO Research:
Try the following on yahoo and google (make sure syntax is correct): site: www.competitor.com. (replace 'competitor' with real name). It will show you how many pages that each search engine has indexed from the competitors site. Depending on the site, many results could be returned. Look to see if each page has a title and description associated with them. You will then be able to determine whether each page within your competitor site has been individually optimized.

When you start researching keywords do not start with the most common keyword. For example, if you are selling Canon products, do no start researching or optimizing for the word 'Canon'. You need to break it down - for example - to 'Canon power shot'. Even better -'Canon power shot SD400 memory sticks'. This way, you have created a niche keyword structure (many permutations from these keywords) within a larger category, and you will able to better optimize keywords for this area. With this in mind, go to Google and start typing in specific keywords and phrases to see where the competition is. As you are doing this, you should understand the page rank algorithm. It is Google's way of giving specific value to how popular are popular your web site is. It's essentially based on the number of votes of other web sites that have cast votes up for your web site. Votes are generated when another web site places a link on their web site that is pointing to your web site. The more votes you get, the better your chances are for good ranking. Try our free SEO tools and give yourself a kick-start.

To view the page rank, install the Google toolbar (toolbar.google.com). As you look at the competition, recognize that we talk about on-page and off- page optimization. On-page optimization are things like proper use of H1 header tags, using main keywords in the title tags, keywords and phrases are bolded underlined or italicized, using image tags and placing correct keywords within that tag. Many place keywords at the very beginning of the text, and once at the very end of the copy, with other sprinkled throughout the company. It's an "hour glass" type of a concept. Keywords at the top, less in the middle and again repeated at the end. Do the things that the competition is doing just do it a little bit better - this is one way to get one step ahead of them. The "least imperfect" site wins.

Optimization Tip #2: How does Tagging really work, and why does it matter?

In our example, when we open the Canon landing page you need to start with the page title for your web site. The page title should only include the main keywords. (Do not ever say welcome to our web site!) Try to combine the keywords in your title. Make sure you use the H1 header tag early in your body text. Also, when Google reads the web page it uses the text from the top left-hand side of the page to the bottom right hand side of the page.

Next, you would need to create H2 header tags. You can think of that as the sub heading for a web page. This is a very common used tag, so it's best to place the primary keyword in your H1 tags and your secondary keywords into your H2 tags.

Now you need to actually create the content for the page. When you try to write the contents, sprinkle your main keywords throughout the copy. But don't overdo it, just make it a natural effort. Once you have written the copy you should then go back and bold underline or italicize some of the keywords. Only one time each, maximum. There are many HTML site building tools out there that use the Bold (B) tag for bolding keywords, and has been overused. Google doesn't penalize you for it, but in fact, by using the tag STRONG it provides higher quality content for search engines. You can also add some images for your users, and when you do this you need to properly include the keyworded image tags. So for example, if we have an image on our web page called 'oneshot.jpg' you would include code that adds that ALT tag and text about that specific memory stick (from our Sony example).

Also, Google views your web page from top left to bottom right. Well, in general they do. However, you want to make sure that you code your HTML to compliment or support this, specially if you have non-related navigational elements to the left of page. There are techniques to do this, which is explained in a great series, try the Free SEO 3-day Email Course.

Optimization Tip #3: Off page search engine optimization - competition to the ground!

You have come up with your niche marketplace and associated keywords and phrases into your page. You will have completed proper approach to tagging from titles through the body content, including H1's, H2's and ALT tags. You are then ready to get your site indexed. Your first rule, is to never use the Google submission form. There are better and faster ways.

The first approach
You need to know how a search engine finds you in the first place. They will visit one web site that is already in their index and if they follow the link to that new site, it could be yours. For example, if you have a new site and you have a partner in this 'Canon' business space, and he puts a link to your page and he's already visible on the Internet at Google, they'll crawl to that site and find your link and get you into the index. Now what if you don't have a partner in this space in your are brand new, you still can get into the index. There are article directories that you can submit to, places like PRWeb.com. Others are - goarticles.com, buzz article.com, article fever.com and many more. These are excellent sites for you to write something about your services or products. The engines will pick you out, and Google will find you.

The second approach (and to quickly get listed in the Google index)
Go see your competition. Type in the search terms you are competing with and find web sites that have a page rank of five or six or higher that you will notice in the green bar from the Google toolbar (above). Find six or 10 of these sites and locate their contact information. We have found that e-mail works - of course - but picking up the phone and commenting on their site and how discussing how a link partnership could benefit each others, rates higher. Top ranking sites may ignore you, and it's certainly tougher persuade somebody to add your link to their web sites. You must give them a good reason to do this. Contact sites that are related to you and are complimentary - those are the best. Find good and great link neighborhoods within your topics. And always think of a way that you can give them something that they would benefit from. Think of this as an emotional bank account. You make deposits, and you (later) may make withdrawals. If you can manage to get at least one PR 6 web site to link your web site, you'll be off and running. You should be indexed in under three days. If you get a PR 7 web site link to you - in most cases you'll be there in 24 hours.

The third approach (and why you must be careful here)
Purchase links from high Page Rank websites. The easiest and fastest way to do this is to visit one of the many link purchasing websites. Here are a few of the better ones: a) http://www.linkadage.com, b) c) http://www.textlinkbrokers.com, d) http://www.text-link-ads.com. (NOTE: Only buy one/month, or you may get seriously penalized). Many times you can purchase 1 PR7 link for a 1 month time period for, say, $150. After the month is up, there is no need to renew because you are already in Google's index. Paying $150, and you can be indexed by Google quickly and with little to no work on your part.

Tip #1:
Add a Google sitemap (XML). You can easily do this with free tools or directly via a Google account. You should also check the competitor sites for http://URLname/sitemap.xml. It's the default for Google, and if the competition has it (it will load in your browser or reader) - you can be assured they are pretty agressive and informed about Search Engine Optimization techniques.

Tip #2:
Discover how many pages the competition has online. You can use free tools again, and the Xenu's Link Sleuth is free - and fast - a good tool to keep close. The 'Stats for Managers' at the bottom of page is the important data for statistics.

Tip #3:
Use the 'link: sitename.com' syntax in Google to locate number of backlinks within a competitor site. Google and Yahoo have different estimates here, but it's vital information from both. (Yahoo use 'linkdomain: sitename.com').

Much is written on the blogs' approach to SEO rankings. We believe it has its place, but in moderation and always pertinent to your business. Blog spamming can get you penalized as well. The Microsaw Web 2.0 blogs are here, and recently a new service was launched at PayPerPost, written up in Business Week.

Continue the search engine optimization and search engine marketing work, and expand your strategy to include email marketing, affiliate, on / off-page optimization, along with traditional means for online marketing (keyword) dominance (print/media). Always provide great content, but that alone will not do it. Off-page strategies are very important, but may work too well. For example, check out the top result on Google for the search term miserable failure. It is not in position one because that web page had been optimized for that search term. The web site is in position one because huge amounts of web sites link to it with the text miserable failure in the link text. Can you guess which site it is?

Internet Marketing Strategies For 2007

People struggle everyday setting up an eCommerce site or an affiliate program connected to a product. Though this is a good stop on the way it is only half the battle. To truly make it online you will need more resources than you think. You will need a nice structured plan of action for starting an internet marketing business online. There are many experts that do this all the time in great detail, they have derived strategies for traffic generation and headlines that scream at you.

Some people like to only mention content and that when you have good content you will catch every bodies attention and they will come back and ask for more. The real online marketing techniques that work while others don't are things such as. Targeted keywords, well-created Meta Tags, good quality advertising, this includes paid advertising and also a nice affiliate program are all nice strategies to make it in the online world today.

There is no doubt that these methods above are all great and should be used. There is nothing that can stop a well structured internet marketing plan. A good internet marketing plan focuses on a few main factors.

1. What you can win in the short run, short-term strategies:

This is direct marketing in it's core. Quick response marketing. These are the online marketing strategies that can be seen in areas such as emails, banners, PPC and many more like it. What this basically means is that you have one shot, then the person is going to leave your website and never come back. These are the kind of internet marketing techniques experts use in order to get high responses and make massive income in very short amounts of time. This also generates a huge amount of momentum for your website. Online marketing experts have studied these ideas closely and realized that these strategies are all strategies used during holiday seasons such as Christmas. Internet marketers use this to their advantage to create awareness for the crowd. We gain information about different promotions in the market. Internet marketers use this to promote new product launches.

Short Term internet marketing strategies are usually very time consuming and high in efforts. They can also be very expensive. The usual comments from people failing in such instances are things like "Man it was expensive and I didn't get much out of it, internet marketing sucks". This of course is because an online marketing budget can get crushed quickly running ads on popular sites over, and over, for longer periods of time.

2. What you will gain in the long run, long-term strategies:

Internet marketing strategies for long term relationships is when you focus on getting fewer people, but more targeted people. This means they don't come to check you out all the time. They might check back every now and then to buy something you have to offer. You are getting a steady stream of customers willing to buy. This is the strategy most internet marketers use to create a steady stream of income, a nice little base sales line.

To be able to maintain this long term internet marketing base line, you will need to have the following:

* Good Content

* Affiliate Programs for your customers

* Good and Healthy SEO Link Exchanges

* Good SEO

* Embedded Meta Tags

Take note that these things alone does not increase sales for you. These internet marketing strategies provide you with a collectively and steady increase in sales, over a period of time. You might start out at zero for 10 months, but the eleventh month you are getting regular customers, buying more than one of your products all calling you for more.

These long term internet marketing strategies will get your visitors a nice feel and the internet marketing strategies are not very expensive. They do require more work than expenses. This is the kind of business that is slow to start, but over time generates massive leads and earns you the most profits.

For your website to be truly successful in today's saturated and competitive market you will need to do a little bit of both, long term and short term internet marketing strategies for your site to work.

I hope you got a nice insight as to what YOU need to do in order to make any of this happen.

Productive SEO - 4 Keys to Create More Money In SEO

Search engine optimization is the greatest source of online traffic. As such, all webmasters are trying all their might to optimize their site so they will be rank higher by search engines. When they make it on the top 10 of search result pages, they are assured of improved traffic and increased in revenue.

Here are the 4 keys to create more money in SEO:

1. Use relevant keywords on your content. Insert keywords on your title tags so search engine spiders will analyze the content of your pages. This will greatly help in improving your chances of attracting more visitors through search engines. In addition, you need to use these same keywords as anchor texts when linking your pages. Lastly, sprinkle relevant keywords on your content particularly on your titles and sub titles.

2. Link building. Build links with websites that share your topics. You can do that through reciprocal and one way link campaigns. Just make sure that the websites you are going to link to have higher page ranking and established following. Also, avoid link farming, this is an unethical way of popularizing your website and you can get penalized by Google for it.

3. Describe your images using Alt Tag. Google allows online users to search photos using image search. To make your images highly visible, give them accurate description using Alt Tag. This could generate more traffic for you as more and more users are now looking for images aside from text contents.

4. Submit your website to search engines. There is no better way to get your website indexed by search engines than directly submitting it to them. To make sure that your submission will not be rejected, read their terms and conditions and abide by them at all costs.

The Meta Tag Question

Search Engine Optimizer's often have two different views when it comes to meta tags. One this is unanimous meta tags have definitely been devalued for use in most major search engines but you will find they are still being used as the description often times when your site is listed in the search results.

Meta tags were started back in the early 90's when the internet was just getting it's brand new legs and they were used to help the search engines organize the growing number of web pages. This was an easy way to make your site indexed and listed high. Soon after unethical webmasters started to abuse the meta tag by either spamming the page full of so many keywords or sometimes even made different websites appear in the results for a completely different keyword. Gambling sites would stuff their meta tags with more commonly used phrases in order to bring their sites to the first page and trick the search engine and moreover the user.

Now obviously, most search engines have discontinued the use of meta tags for organizing their search engines, algorithms have become much more technologically advanced and they use a number of other methods to index and sort. The big question is if they are no longer viewed as a helpful tag, why do some SEO's still use them.

Meta tags a a multitude of different uses and names, so which ones do you use? There are four that I often find myself using when I am optimizing a site. They are as follows:

Meta Robots: This tag is still widely supported and it simply tells the search bots to either follow the url through or you can ask them not to index certain parts of your site for aspects that may not be relevant to your actual site.

Meta Description: My favorite tag, this is your first impression, if you don't have this tag search engines will just tag clips of your index page including the keyword that was being searched for by the surfer. First impressions often is the difference between a sale or no sale.

Meta Keywords: A controversial meta tag, some use it, some don't. I still thinks it holds a bit of value if you keep it simple. Don't add more than 20 or so keywords, and I think it does increase your on page keyword density.

Meta Content Type: This is recommended because you may find that if you do not have this tag it could cause display problems

Now, well most search engines do not use the meta tags as they did in the early nineties, but as I explained you can still use them for a variety of other uses. There of course are a number of opinions on this matter, some SEO firms are strong believers in the meta tag and other firms are strongly against it.

In conclusion, my opinion is that meta tags can be used for a number of alternative reasons now and still offer you a great place to sell your stuff. I always will recommend the use of at least a small number of Meta Tags, and if used correctly will greatly improve your chances of higher sales & higher rankings.

The Da Vinci Code of Search Engine Optimization

I recently signed a new client for Search Engine Optimization Services (thats what we do). The problem, same as always was she wanted $10,000 worth of optimization on a $200 a month budget. I was groovin on her style and liked her can do attitude. We put together a program.

She has a unique selling proposition, competitively priced products, and is in a relatively crowded marketspace. Her website was built on the cheap, but is structurally sound. Shes been playing around with FrontPage and can at least create new pages from old ones, change images, add new content and publish her changes.

Sounds good so far. Right? Just enough knowledge to get into trouble!

Leonardo Da Vinci once said Savage is he who saves himself. So in the spirit of Hollywood heres the Da Vinci Code for helping out your SEO Expert, reducing your Search Engine Positioning costs and maximizing your website return on investment.

This is a recipe so to speak, so follow the instructions.

Da Vinci Code #1

Existing Content. Using your favorite HTML editor (well use FrontPage for this exercise) do some basic on page SEO. Using the bold feature (the B at the top of the page) bold the keywords in your content. Dont do crazy, but try to highlight at least 3 or 4 times per page. Feel free to mix it up for readability and use italics instead of bold (the I at the top of the page). Just like your reader, the search engines take notice of words in bold and italics when used for emphasis.

Da Vinci Code #2

Find the hidden treasure in your images. Search engines could care less about your images or what your site looks like. To them theyre just code. So give them the code theyre looking for. Using the right click button, right click on your favorite image, select Picture Properties, click on General. Give your image a name related to your keywords, example: search_engine_optimization.jpg. Put at least one keyword in the text section, then write a keyword rich description of the image. Now the search engines can read the code of your image.

Da Vinci Code #3

New Content. Hopefully your SEO Expert will have done some in depth keyword research for you. Pick 10 keywords that you want to target. Now create a page for each keyword set. Start creating a new page of content from one of your existing pages in FrontPage by highlighting the HTML file in the left hand column. Right click and select New from Existing Page. This preserves your existing layout and saves you from having to recreate a whole new layout/theme if youre not experienced with CSS.

I know that every SEO guru and web design grandmasters head just exploded, but remember this is YOU saving YOU, not THEM billing YOU. You can fix the architecture when you start realizing gains from your efforts.

Start writing. I prefer to divide my keywords up into three tiers. (1) The keyword you use thematically throughout your site the tough one that everybody is chasing (link a few of these back to your home page see #4). Search Engine Optimization). (2) The keyword that THIS page is about Example: Pay Per Click. (3) A localized version of both Example: Arizona Search Engine Optimization and Scottsdale Pay Per Click.

Da Vinci Code #4

Link Building. Charity begins at home. Make sure you have an internal linking strategy. Link back from internal content pages to your home page or to other internal content pages. In Front Page, make sure to take advantage of the Screen Tip function (in the top right hand corner of the hyperlink popup box). Put in the keyword relevant to that hyperlink. Link building is a science to a certain degree, but you can help out your SEO Expert by going old school. Ask your suppliers, customers and friends who have websites to link to your site then mix and match when those sites are linking to your site. Dont have every link go straight to your home page.

Da Vinci Code #5

Become an Expert. Believe it or not, someone out there actually is looking for the knowledge and experience you already have. Write an article for your blog, share it with your competitor, syndicate it (ask your SEO or emarketing consultant about strategy here). This is great for the double whammy of link building and traditional how to marketing. Check out Ezinearticles, GoArticles or Article Sender. They are good places to start becoming an expert. Include these articles or press releases as new pages of content on your site.

If you are willing, and have the time, you can help your SEO Expert make you successful and reduce your costs. Always remember that Search Engine Optimization is an ongoing process and results take time, so be patient. And be savage about it!

Profitable Article Marketing - Announcing 4 Profitable Ways to Impact Your Article Marketing

Writing and distributing articles can really deliver great results for webmasters and blog owners alike. Aside from the fact that it is the easiest and fastest way to earn quality back links to your account, it can also be your most powerful tool in increasing the number of your online visitors and improving your web page ranking.

Here are the 4 profitable ways to impact your article marketing:

1. Choose topics that are related to the product you are selling. Article marketing works just like any advertising medium. You have to build up your product first so your readers will be enticed to buy it. One of the best ways to do that through article marketing by picking the topic (usually the problem of your target market) and presenting your product as a solution. For instance, if you are selling vacuum cleaners, you can write articles about usual cleaning problems and present your products as a solution or easy way out from the problem.

2. Make your articles informative. In article marketing, it is important that you inform first before your pitch in your advertising lines. By doing so, you can conveniently convince your readers that you are an authority in your chosen field and thus, in the perfect position to make recommendations.

3. Be credible. In any ebusiness, it is very important to establish your online credibility. Because as a general rule, online users only transact with people they trust. Be credible by consistently providing your readers with accurate and timely information.

4. Be consistent. Consistency plays a crucial role in the success of your article marketing campaign. In order to establish your online presence, you must be able to constantly write quality articles and consistently submit them to article submission sites.

There are so many marketing tools in the internet today but article marketing remains to be the best and the most cost-effective in terms of traffic generation and augmenting your sales leads.

Here are the 4 exciting ways to supercharge your article marketing:

1. Understand the terms of service set forth by various publishing sites. Some marketers do not take the time to read and understand the rules and regulations set by publishers until their articles are rejected. This is an absolute waste of time and energy. To prevent this from happening, make sure that you are familiar with the requirements of publishing sites before you write your articles to increase their chances of being posted online the first time you submit them.

2. Do not advertise on your articles. Articles are not great venue for your sales pitch as people expect to get information when they open your content. To make article marketing work for you, you have to keep this in mind: inform first before you advertise. If you are able to educate or empower your readers through your content, they are most likely to click on your resource box and you will automatically convert them from readers to potential clients.

3. Your articles must be well-written. There are so many articles in the World Wide Web today, in order to stand out from the rest, you need to make sure that you give your potential clients great reading experience. Enhance your writing skills, be very particular with your grammar, and make sure that your ideas flow smoothly.

4. Your articles must be easy to understand. This should be one of your top priorities when writing your content. Strive to make it hassle-free for your readers to understand your content by using their language and simple terms as much as possible.

Article Marketing And Why Your Business Needs It

You have probably already heard about article marketing and now you are wondering if it might be able to help promote your business. Web sites by themselves can draw some traffic but are often limited in terms of successful business marketing or campaign marketing. Of course, that depends on the type of online advertising you are using. Article marketing, however, provides you with a very efficient and lasting tool that can bring lots of targeted traffic to your doorstep - ready to look at what you have to offer. Here are some reasons why article marketing should be part of your online marketing strategy.

1. It Provides an Excellent Product Marketing Tool

Whatever it is that you are selling, the Internet can put the word out faster than any other means. It can also reach a much wider audience, even providing you with a global outreach - at a relatively low cost. You may already know that keyword promotions, such as Google's Adwords, and other cost per click programs, can be very effective also - but they are not cheap.

Article marketing, on the other hand, which also uses those same keywords, is free - except for the cost to produce the articles (unless you write the articles yourself). These articles can be professionally written on the same keywords that your web site focuses on, and they can be distributed at no cost to you and posted online - in multiple places.

2. It Brings Targeted Traffic to Your Website

Once you have a number of quality articles written by a freelance writer - one who specializes in Website content, you have the quality you need to get the job done. Your article marketing starts when they get posted at some of the more popular article distribution web sites. The search engines find them - and they begin to direct targeted traffic to your web site.

3. It Directs to the Right Page

The article itself needs to be written around a keyword or keyphrase which will then direct people interested in that subject to a particular page on your Web site. For instance, if you were selling plumbing products, then you would want articles dealing with all aspects of plumbing. Titles may include things like How to Choose the Right Faucet For Your New Kitchen; or, How to Fix That Leaking Showerhead; to, What Are the Most Popular Bathroom Fixtures?, etc.

Each article leads people to the right page on your web site. The first article, for instance, How to Choose the Right Faucet For Your New Kitchen, would direct traffic to your Web page which provides more information, and some links where your visitor can find new faucets, faucet parts, and possibly books on the subject. As you can also see, a couple of the titles work to get people's attention - and you then provide the solution to their problem - and get sales.

4. It Is Effective Because of Multiplication

One of the great aspects of article marketing is that other people are most likely selling the same thing. You ask, how can that help you? Simple - every web page needs web site content. Since other people who have plumbing web sites (according to the earlier illustration), or blogs, also need web site content, they look for free articles to build their web site faster. Article distribution centers require that the author's name and web page links remain attached at the bottom. This means that for every individual that picks up one of your quality articles - it also provides another inbound link to your web site (at no cost to you) - increasing your search engine popularity.

5. It Works Around The Clock

Each article continues to be a part of your strategic marketing plan and efforts as long as it remains on the Web. Article marketing continues to work to promote your product or service around the clock. Because others will pick up some of the articles - your Web site popularity grows even more with time, increasing your targeted traffic - and profit.

A simple way to get started is to communicate with a web content writer who knows how to write for the search engines (SEO), and who can give you the quality web content articles you need.

Article Marketing Traffic Exploded!

Article marketing is the one of the best ways to get traffic to your website. It's easy and free to do. But how can you get tons of traffic to your website? To get tons of traffic to your website, you should be working on your articles and how to market them. There are some simple ways that you can do it, and I hope that you use them in the guide shown below!

Article marketing traffic exploded

  • By going to different blogs about your articles niche and start networking with them, you can easily get a higher page ranking with your articles and get people to look at your articles more. The key to this tactic is to not piss off the bloggers about telling them that they should use your article. Just simply telling them that they should put your articles onto their blog will not work. You have to network with them and build a relationship with them. Don't just drop a comment and leave. That just pisses off the blogger, and your not going to get very good feedback.
  • Signing up with newsletters and networking with the owners is a viable way to get a higher page ranking for your article to increase your web traffic. Newsletters get sent to their mailing lists to a mass of people. If you can network with the owner of the newsletter, and get them to look at your article, they will gladly put your article into their newsletter content. Now your article will get linked to more than hundreds of people in your niche who trust that newsletter.
  • Writing tons of articles regularly is the key to article marketing. By simply writing 10 articles a day, your web traffic will increase significantly and quickly. To put it simply, the more articles that you write, the more publicity that your website gets. Also, search engines love articles, so by simply putting the link to your website into your articles signature, your websites page ranking will slowly increase. If you write more than 300 articles, that means you have more than 300 inbound links to your website!

Article marketing is a viable way to get tons of repeating traffic to your website, and should be used to your advantage. By using these simple tactics, your articles will soon soar and your web traffic will increase by hundreds!

Amplify Your Article Marketing Efforts By Helping The Reader

Article marketing is a really great way to build an online business. If you have tried other methods like ppc or ezine advertising and still have not experienced any success I seriously suggest that you consider article marketing.

Let us first take a look at why this is such a great method of advertising your business. I think that the primary reason is that today with the increase in spam and advertising messages people are not as receptive to blatant advertising as before. Many years ago to be a top marketer all you needed to do was advertise your website using ppc. Today the ppc search engines are so competitive and it really is a lot more difficult to make a profit.

As the famous sales trainer Jeoffrey Gitomer once said people buy from people that they like, know and trust. With article marketing people are most likely to have read several of your articles before they click through to your website. This means that by the time that they click through to your site they already like, know and trust you. Consequently they are ready to buy from you. With other forms of marketing you need to do the hard work first.

Now the best way to maximize these results is to write articles where you help the reader. Share a slice of your expertise without giving the farm away. The more useful information that you give your reader the more likely that they will subscribe to your newsletter and become a paid customer. I find that 250 to 350 word articles work the best. This is so that they are short enough and do not get lost before they have an opportunity to click on my resource box.

Finally, make sure that you have your unique selling proposition in your resource box. This will be your 30 second elevator pitch that will make the reader want to click through to your website.

Article Marketing: Top 10 Reasons Why Articles Get Rejected

Each week I receive dozens of article submissions to my websites from aspiring authors, website owners, and entrepreneurs embarking on a new article marketing campaign. Most of the time, I can only use a small fraction of the content I receive because people writing articles make one of the crucial article marketing mistakes listed below.

KEY POINT: When you submit articles to a newsletter/ezine publisher or a website owner as part of your article marketing campaign, you have to remember that they aren't going to publish YOUR article for THEIR customers and visitors unless it is high quality content that gives something of value.

If you're writing articles like crazy as part of your article marketing, but getting very few of them actually published, then you might want to re-evaluate your approach. Are you making one of these crucial article marketing mistakes?

1. Poor Subject Matter:

If you're going to bother writing articles, write about something that people are interested in reading about. In other words, address a problem and provide a solution within your content. This is your best bet when in comes to article marketing. Content pieces that approach an old problem in a new way or with a new twist work well too -- you don't have to necessarily discover a whole new problem that no one else has ever though of before (If you discover a whole new problem and have the solution you better be thinking of product creation not just an article marketing!).

2. Write With Personality:

No one likes to read text books. Put a little of your own personality into your article marketing and make your content engaging and entertaining as well as informative. If you have a sense of humor, use it.

3. Write For Your Audience:

Don't distribute content about the value of protein in the American diet to a Russian Political website or the publisher of a podiatry newsletter... They don't care.

4. Write A Decent Sized Article:

Most publishers would rather an article be a little bit too long than very short. Four hundred word articles just don't have enough meat in them. Don't ramble when you're writing articles, but you've got to provide some details if you want to be published.

5. Break Up Your Article: When writing articles, don't use three long paragraphs. Break it up into smaller paragraphs with a few single lines, bullets, etc. to make it easier and more enjoyable to read. Again -- no one likes to read text books.

6. Spell Check And Grammar:

If you're writing articles as part of a serious article marketing campaign, then you've got to spell check. No one will publish your content if it's full of spelling and grammar errors.

7. Don't Write A Sales Letter: No one will publish an article that reads like a sales letter... period. Article marketing isn't about selling, it's about pre-selling.

8. Forget About Affiliate Links:

Use your head... why would anyone use your content article if it's full of your own affiliate links? Ever hear of the "Golden Rule?" It applies to article marketing too. Would you publish another writer's article if it were full of his affiliate links? I doubt it.

9. Create A Reasonable Resource Box:

A resource box should tell me who you are, what you do, and how I can get in touch with you. It's not unlimited advertising space for you to describe every website you run and each product you sell. Article marketing is about providing content, not advertising. That "Golden Rule" thing applies to resource boxes too.

10. Only Write About What You Know:

Even if you're writing articles based on opinion, get your facts straight. Don't write content filled with advice that you have no business giving... it will hurt your article marketing campaign.

If you take nothing else away from this discussion, remember that a good article writing campaign always answers "What's in it for me?"

When you're writing articles to send to newsletter and website publishers, you have to answer that question on two fronts...

What's in it for the publisher? Why should they show your content to their customers and visitors? Does it give something of value?

-- AND --

What's in it for the people who will ultimately be reading your article when it's published?

After all, the idea behind article marketing is to provide some worthy content that compels readers to visit your site, subscribe to your newsletter, or buy your product.

Article marketing can be extremely lucrative... but you've got to do it right.

Article Marketing Secrets Exposed - Learn How To Promote Your Articles Online

One of the biggest aspects of article marketing that you need to learn how to master is the distribution of your articles. The main reason for this is that the more noise that you make in the marketplace the more successful the promotion of your website will be.

Now one of the most frequently questions that many marketers ask me is what is the best way to submit their articles. Is it to submit it to many of the directories or only the popular ones?

Based on my experience I would like go through some of the results that I experienced. When I first started using this method of marketing I was submitting my work to a number of directories. Now these backlinks from the directories did help my search engine rankings. I also found that more publishers actually published my articles consequently generating more quality one way links pointing to my website.

However, the disadvantage was that I did not get much traffic from these. I did get a few hits here and there, but I would not say that this was worth the time that I spent submitting to these directories.

So I have found the strategy of submitting to the most popular article directory gets me enough traffic without spending too much time submitting. In fact submitting alone can become a full time job if you do not manage it correctly.

If you do plan on submitting to some of the other directories I seriously suggest that you consider using software like Article Post Robot as this will save you a lot of time with your submissions.

Using Article Marketing To Build Your Blog!

Article Marketing on the Internet is a whole different story because of the way your articles reach humans who have an interest in them. Article Marketing will help you increase your link popularity, search engine positioning for your keywords and phrases, and it helps you reach more potential customers for your products or services. Article marketing is the most powerful skill you can learn for the promotion of your online business. For marketers who know the pages on their sites that convert as well as the keywords these pages target in paid and organic search campaigns, article marketing can be far more. Content articles are an essential part of search engine marketing and when done properly they can have a tremendously positive and long term effect to your web site business. It's a well established fact that writing articles is a powerful method of advertising online. Articles that are interesting and informative will act like a magnet to draw targeted traffic direct to your website in both the short term and the long term.

Article

If you want to really make your article "SELL" then you've got to craft the perfect RESOURCE BOX. Keep the size of your resource box so that it's no larger than 20% of your total article size. Success can only be had when you create keyword rich titles for your articles that match the most commonly searched keywords for your topic.

Marketing

In popular usage, "marketing" is the promotion of products, especially advertising and branding. A relatively new form of marketing uses the Internet and is called internet marketing or more generally e-marketing, affiliate marketing, desktop advertising or online marketing.

Business

Marketing is fundamental to any businesses growth. The process for base management shifts the marketer to building a relationship, nurturing the links, enhancing the benefits that sold the buyer in the first place, and improving the product/service continuously to protect the business from competitive encroachments.

Traffic

Most authors are wasting their time producing dozens to hundreds of high quality articles that never reach a fraction of their traffic potential. Applying an 80/20 approach I figured if I was going to submit articles manually, as opposed to using automated software, then I should work with the service with the most traffic.

Links

My goals are to build links and generate some reader interaction. I also know that the majority of those article directories out there accept marketing-related articles and so will be able to build lots of links to my article marketing site. Thanks to Ezine Article's significant presence in search engines (high PageRank and lots of backlinks) web searches for your name will often pull up your author homepage. Your author homepage includes details that you can change anytime and you may include web links back to your own website or blog.

Advertising

Unfortunately, with millions of websites up and running each day, it is difficult to actually see the result you want, without doing a bit more advertising and work on marketing your website. There are many free methods of advertising on the Internet that are not very effective, but writing and distributing articles is a surefire way to get your website noticed and a great way to generate income online. Viral marketing is a unique way of advertising that is appealing and useful to the consumers who see it. "Writing and publishing articles across the Internet is the absolute best way to not only build your credibility and drive traffic to your site, but also to gain a massive amount of free advertising.

Conclusion

Keep in mind that article marketing is a timeless strategy and you may not have an easy ability to retract what you put in your article once it hits major distribution. If you want to maximize your results from any article marketing strategy, you must master keyword research so that you can create keyword rich and intelligent article TITLES. One of the most powerful benefits of article marketing is the ability to build highly qualified and highly responsive lists. Make the most out of Article Marketing by exposing your articles through an article submission tool. I've yet to notice any penalization but there are a lot of forces in play here so if you are really worried, take the time to modify your articles or only submit original content. The other thing I like about Article Marketing, which is one of the main reasons I like blogging as well, is that it contributes to your overall exposure one little bit at a time.

Article marketing is now integral to all internet marketers. It is one of the best and cheapest ways to build back-links to your site, get your product in front of thousands of prospective customers, and also rank higher in the search engines.

It is relatively straight forward to write an article, and a small amount of research is all that is needed to write a decent ~400 word article in about 15 minutes. However, after you have written your article you need to get it out there in front of your target market.

There are also several article submission services out there that will post your blog to a set number of sites for a fee. Some of these sites are reputable but a lot of them are known for their problems with spam posting. This reduces their integrity with the search engines and ultimately leads to their demise.

There is one site that ensures all articles are reviewed by real live people, this means that no spam articles will be posted out to the sites that your well crafted article will be getting sent to, thus ensuring the service's integrity on the net.

This service is called Article Marketer - there is a link to it in my bio box. Did I also mention that it has a free subscription option? there are several different ways to join the site, from monthly to three monthly, annually and even a lifetime membership option. I recommend that you join up as a free member and test the waters before you consider paying any fees. When you start to see the profits rolling in from the free service then you can put some of those profits back into paying for an upgrade.

Submitting articles to the right sites is not only time consuming but also quite difficult, as you are never sure which sites are the best. Article Marketer takes all the stress and strain out of article submission, try it free today!
