How To Acquire One Way Inbound Links

How can one get a good ranking in the major search engines ? This is a question, I'm sure, agitates the minds of every newbie as well as professional webmaster. Even those that are doing well are fighting to keep their place. But isn't there a way to consistently appear in a good position at the major search engines? I think there are ways to achieve this enviable position. One of the ways is what this article is all about. That is, consistently build one way inbound links to your site. Getting other webmasters to link to your site without you linking back.

Link Popularity, link prominence or link reputation is one of the most important elements search engines use to know if a site is an authority site. That is a quality site. However, like all other search engine ranking criteria, webmasters have found ways to beat this hurdle of link popularity. This they have done by exchanging links with one another. This is called reciprocal linking. You link to me and I to you and both of us have increased our link popularity by one.

Webmaster have realized the importance search engines attached to link popularity for top search engine positioning and have therefore resorted to reciprocal linking. However, in the near future this strategy will become obsolete, because these links are artificial links. Not generated voluntarily. And so they do not indicate a site as being an authority site.

The purpose of reciprocal linking is to increase link prominence for top search engine positioning and not necessarily for the benefit of web surfers. The search engines will recognize this. I predict that they will start taking this into account when they are changing their algorithms . The webmaster that will survive is one that consistently builds one way inbound links to his site. These types of links are the best. It portrays a site as being an authority site because the site is linked to naturally by other webmasters. Without reciprocal links.

Webmasters would not like to link to just any site unless there is some benefit for their site or site visitors. In this modern world nothing goes for nothing. A webmaster will only link to your site if there is some benefit for his site.

Why webmasters would link voluntarily.

Now in order for you to succeed in this one way inbound link building strategy, you need to know some of these benefits that lead webmaster to link voluntarily. If you like, call it the carrot. In accepting and eating the carrot the webmaster is led to link to your site. Let's look at some these benefits before we look at how they can be used to entice webmasters to link to you.

1. Webmasters would want to provide good, important and timely information for their visitors. If your site has this information, they will readily link to you. They could for example, point their visitors to a free resource at your site. 2. Webmasters recognize the fact that providing good information creates a good image for their site. Visitors will get to know that the site is a good resource site even though the resource might not be located there. This keeps visitors coming back again and again. 3. There is also the benefit of linking to an authority site. Search engines do award some points for linking to an authority site. Contrary to popular belief that this reduces the overall link popularity of a site, it actually benefits that page . This is my practical experience.

Now how do you acquire these one way inbound links?

1. Provide some useful resource at your site. This is a very powerful incentive for webmasters to link to your site. More so, if this resource is free. It could be a free tool , free software download, free content etc. This gives an incentive for webmasters to point their visitors at this resource. Some the resources you could provide are:

(a) Link popularity check tool

(b) Meta tag generator

(c) Search engine page analyzer

(d) Free CGI scripts

(e) Search engine page ranking check tool etc.

For free and paid scripts go to Hotscript.com or Searchscripts.com. There you will find all kinds of scripts that perform specific functions. Or you can hire a programmer to write a custom script for you. You will find programmers at many sites such as Elance.com.

2. Write good articles and submit to article sites, article syndicate sites and ezine announcement sites. Your article will be published along with your byline with a link pointing to your site. Make sure that the text link has your keywords in it and not your domain name. For example, < a href=" http://www.ebizstartups.com"> home base business ideas and not www.ebizstartups.com

Webmasters are always looking for good content for their websites . Stating in your article that your byline be left intact you will have many one way inbound links pointing at your site in no time. If you cannot write, hire a writer to write your articles for you. There are many places on the net where you can hire a writer for as little as $5 per article. This depends on the number of words per article. One of these places to hire a writer is Elance.com.

Writing in your area of expertise is better. Then you can present your own unique perspective to the topic. If it is not your area of expertise then be sure to research the topic very well . An incisive, well-written article will be snapped up and published by other webmasters, thereby increasing your link popularity considerably.

3. Another way to build your one way inbound link is to participate intensively in newsgroups and discussion forums. By making good and valuable contributions (postings) you establish yourself as an expert. Always try to be different and stand out. Others will see this and check out your profile. This will lead them to check out your site and eventually link to it. If signature files are allowed in the forum use a well-crafted signature file that will pull forum members to your site

4. Enter your site for an award at award sites. If your site is selected for an award, a link is placed to your site and this increases your one way inbound links.

5. You could also acquire one way inbound links by offering to provide testimonials for products you have purchased. Send the manufacturer of the product or service an email offering to provide a testimonial at his site or sales page in return for a link back to your site.

6. Submit your site to directories. Especially, niche or specialist directories. Regional directories are also okay. Submitting your site to specialist directories gives your site a greater chance of being picked up by the search engines than when you submit to a general directory. Also consider paying for submission to some important directories. For a fee, these directories will index your site in their database within two to five business days. For a list of search engines and directories you can submit to for free and for a fee go to add url to directories. Consider hiring a link building company to do your link popularity campaign for you. One of such company is linkexpress.com For a fee they will guarantee a certain number of quality one way inbound links to your site. This might be expensive but the investment will surely pay off with traffic from free search engines.

8. You can offer a discount to webmaster on services you provide at your site in return for a link from their sites.

9. If you have goods or services for sale consider setting up an affiliate program. This is a very good way of rapidly building your link prominence. Make sure your affiliate software is hosted on your server. This ensures that your affiliates' links point back to your site . Using an affiliate service will most likely mean affiliate links will be pointing at their server, thereby depriving you of links. One very good affiliate software is ASSOTRAC.

Some points to note when building one way inbound links.

Your link popularity increases as websites link to you. However, it must be said that it is not the number but the quality of the links that is important. That is, emphasis should be on quality and not quantity. Not all links are equal. Some are more favored (carry more weight) than others. Some of the things to keep in mind when carrying out inbound links are;

1. Look for quality sites to acquire links from. A link from Dmoz or Yahoo has more weight than one from a small private web site. Submit to free or paid listings in important directories.

2. The way other sites link to you is very important. Try as much as possible, to see that your keywords are in the text link that is linking to you and not your domain name. With your keywords in the text link it portrays your site as an authority site for the keyword.

3. Acquire links from complementary sites. Sites that are in the same industry as yours, but are not your competitors. Links from these type of sites have more weight than from those that are not related to your site.

4. Links from specialist or niche directories also carry more weight than those from less important general directories and your links are easier to find by the search engines. When submitting to directories, especially for a fee, be sure to choose a relevant category that is not deep down in the directory. Your listing should be at most three clicks away from the home page of the directory. Some engines will not spider deep down.

5. If you have several websites, link them together in such a way that the links are one way inbound links, and not reciprocal links. Also don't share the same IP address for the sites. All the sites should have unique IPs. This you can ensure by using a different host for each web site.

Conclusion.

Acquiring one way inbound links is the future of link popularity. Sooner the search engines will recognize the artificial nature of reciprocal linking in judging authority sites and will discount this in their algorithm or award less points (weight) to reciprocal links. The methods listed above in acquiring one way inbound links are basic, must do actions for every webmaster wishing to stay long at the top of the search engines.

Article Marketing: Join The Content Revolution

Do people actually read the text on your site? What is the use of having articles on your site anyways? How exactly does article marketing 'market' your site?

The internet is a big portal where people come to look for information. If you have no information, viewers will leave your site for a better one. When optimizing your site, remember that your website is not the only fish in the lake. There are sharks in there and promoting your site through article marketing is not a bad idea.

So, should you provide content or just dump tons of keywords out there? The answer is 'yes' and 'no'. You should provide great content that uses your keywords efficiently. Keywords are another aspect of promoting your site and it leads the reader to your content.

Once again, if your website is selling tomatoes, you will want to tell the potential buyer about tomatoes and keep him/her interested. You will also want to tell the search engines to direct any tomato seeker to your site by using this 'tomato' keyword more than a couple of times, including your Meta keywords and description; if possible, also as the title of your article.

Not only does article marketing increase your page rank, using links (relevantly) through your article will also increase your link popularity. If you are an affiliate of other websites, this will be the great time to include useful money making links into your article. Although be sure to review the author guidelines prior to submitting to an article directory, as some do not allow the use of affiliate links.

Article marketing can also serve as a basis for your PPC/CPM ads. Certain ads use certain keywords, and articles contain words that can draw traffic and revenue to your site: utilize it. Article marketing extends beyond just writing the articles, you also want people to read these articles and develop an interest in your product.

Now that you have created/bought articles that relate to your website, are keyword optimized, and are informational, you can place it on your site and then submit it to several of the top article directories. Placing relevant content with your links on other relative website are great article marketing techniques that can earn you page views. The best way to approach another web site owner is to ask if they would be interested in an article swap, this way both sites will benefit from the one way back link.

Remember that your articles should be authentic and original. Do not collect articles from free article directories, as those articles have been used over and over again and will damage the link popularity of your website. Instead, write articles yourself, exchange articles, hire a hand, or buy original articles.

Handy Tips To Improve Your Search Engine Rankings

This article will focus on some tops tips which you can apply quickly and simply to increase your visibility in the search engines. These are just basic steps but even on their own can have a fairly dramatic affect on your rankings.

As we are looking at quick and easy tips these will mostly be concerned with on-page ranking factors.

Page URL
Having your keywords present in your URL have a great affect on your ranking scores. It gives you a serious advantage in achieving a high ranking. Of course it's not always easy to get the domain name you want but you should certainly consider this if possible - however don't change an existing established domain name.

Titles
These are in between the tags at the top of your page. Make sure your main keywords are in the title (the words you want to rank highly in). Try to keep a minimum of text here but make the title appealing to encourage clicks. Keep the title tags unique for each page on your site.

The title tags are important for all the search engines so spend some time getting them right!

Keyword Usage
Try to focus on specific targeted keywords on each web page (remember search engines rank pages not web sites). Try to repeat the keywords where relevant within the page - don't overuse as each engine has a different threshold of keyword variance. It is estimated that about 6-7% usage on a web page is optimum but only if the text makes sense.

URL Structure
URL structure is an often neglected SEO practice. It's worth doing as it brings long term benefits to your web site. Try to keep urls as simple and targeted as possible particularly avoid long, complicated dynamic urls if you can. Make sure they contain some of your keywords. If you're building a site from scratch that's the easiest time to get these right.

Site Map
Try to include a simple site map to include all the pages on your web site. You can find loads of free tools to help you create one just search on 'sitemap creator'

Headings
Try to include your keywords in headings in the page of possible. Use the tags to emphasise your keywords. As always though remember make your content readable and attractive to both the readers and search engines.

Meta Descriptions
This tag provides a brief description of your page. It provides the summary displayed in many of the search engines. However different lengths are used to try to include a concise description at the beginning of the tag. Meta tags have a limited effect on actual rankings but can be crucial on obtaining clicks so don't ignore them.

If you haven't considered these factors before you're ignoring a simple way to boost your search engine rankings and your income so give them a try.

Article Marketing For Massive Traffic - 3 Of My Biggest Secrets!

Article marketing is not as profitable as before. That's what 'gurus' tend to say to get you afraid. The truth is, although there are more article writers right now, the amount of people surfing the Internet has also increased. So it comes down to the same amount of traffic.

Here are my 3 biggest secrets for getting massive traffic from your article marketing:

1. Always Build A List With Your Opt-In Page

This is what I do - I always build a list by sending traffic from my articles to a opt-in page. I don't send them to a sales page - that just turns most people off. But a squeeze page offering free information is better received. List building is one of the key activities you must be concentrating on online, so direct your traffic to build your list!

2. Submit Only To The Top Directories

Although you can make submitting articles to hundreds of directories quicker with an article submitter, it's still terribly difficult. You have to register at all the directories, and most article directories are different from each other, so that makes article submitting with submitters a slow process still. My advice: submit only to the top 5 directories. Spend more time writing articles.

3. Write In A Conversational Style

Let's face it, as human beings we are emotional beings. We respond better to conversational writing (that's why blogs are so popular!) than boring, technical writing. Unless your subject calls for it, I'd advice writing in a conversational style (like what I'm doing here!) as this will generate windfall results.

Breakthrough Article Marketing - Revealed - 3 Authentic Secrets

If you are looking for the best marketing tool that can virtually do it all - drive quality traffic to your website, pull up your search engine ranking, establish your expertise on your chosen niche, build a trusting and fruitful relationship with your potential clients, augment your sales potential, and ultimately, bring you enormous profits, article marketing is just right for you. This is the process of writing and submitting articles to publishing sites to gain quality inbound links for your website and impart your specialized knowledge to online users.

Here are the 3 authentic secrets to breakthrough with article marketing:

1. Topics. In choosing your topics, you have to make sure that they are relevant to your target market and highly related to the products that you are promoting. This is to effectively educate your potential clients while building up your products all at the same time.

2. Titles. This is one of the few elements that can either make or break your article marketing campaign. You see, when people go online and search for information they need, they are usually presented with numerous articles. To make sure that they will click on your articles, you need to create titles that are striking and attention-grabbing. Once you were able to convince online users to check on your content, you virtually won half the battle of converting your readers to potential clients.

3. Content. Online users will click on your resource box if they find your content useful, relevant, and well-written. This signals them that you are actually good on what you do and that you have information that they need. This will compel them to check on your website for further reading and might consider doing business with you in the long run.

Article Marketing to be Destroyed by Upcoming Duplicate Content Filters Employed by Search Engines?

Rumors are circulating that recent search engine updates are threatening to penalize web sites carrying articles by niche industry experts due to wide distribution and use of those articles on multiple sites. Not so.

Duplicate content filtering confuses everyone. It is absolutely not new and has been in effect for years, but is constantly refined in search engine algorithms to filter out abuses. Any suggestion that article marketing is targeted by the search engines as duplicate content is an understandable misunderstanding. Duplicate content filters look for abuses, not legitimate multiple uses in appropriate forums.

Duplicate content filters were first employed when people began setting up precisely mirrored domains without variation on multiple domain names to increase visibility. That ridiculous method worked to increase ranking until the search engines began de-listing one of the duplicate sites of those employing this technique. Usually it was the older domain that stayed in the index and the newer mirrored site was de-listed.

About the same time, unethical thieves began outright stealing entire sites and placing them on new domains to rank equally as well as the original owner for competitive phrases. Once the traffic was there, they sent them to their own product or affiliate pages. That worked for awhile, but the duplicate content filters nixed that as well and protected the orginal site in rankings.

Then sites began putting up "landing pages" and "doorway pages" for SEO purposes with minor keyword variations in headlines and body text on multiple pages on one site with very closely related text with minor keyword swaps to rank well for blue widgets, red widgets, purple widgets. No text varied but the color or brand or, in the case of travel sites, city and resort names. So search engines extended the duplicate content filter to include that ruse and filter it out.

Continually refining these duplicate content filters is an ongoing effort meant only to beat search engine sp*mmers. Search engines don't set about penalizing legitimate uses of duplicate content - such as press releases distribution and reproduced articles by experts on specialized topics used widely on niche sites and blogs.

There are dozens of legitimate reasons to have the same article on multiple specialty sites and even some good reasons within a single domain. Blogging software actually creates a duplicate page for every post which is deposited in an archive. That blog contains duplicate content until each post rolls off the bottom of the main page. AP and Reuters news stories run on hundreds of news sites. Experts, pundits and commentators within niche industries legitimately syndicate their content to appear widely across dozens of niche sites within their industry.

Many sites now put up duplicate "printer friendly" versions of pages without penalty, but it's always a good idea on the same domain name to post robots metatags telling them not to index duplicate pages. Printing pages or variations on landing pages used for pay-per-click (PPC) advertising should each be tagged by < meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> so you needn't worry about being penalized.

Articles distributed for use by other sites appear on many sites with surrounding themed content, varied site navigation and differing internal links. Articles rank well if they match the theme of the site they are used on. The best ranked sites usually rank better for that article. There is currently no penalty for using articles which appear on several sites. If this were the case, hundreds of major industry portals would be severely penalized.

If you search for article titles in quotes, you'll see them repeated everywhere across the web. Try a search for "Blogging Chocolate Purses" and see the extensive use of that article. I first posted it on my blog and my blog post ranks just below a major search engine portal for that article title. No penalty there, Pandia.com is just better ranked overall than my blog and they are legitimately using that article with my permission.

Article marketing is something I recommend to ALL SEO clients to gain valuable one-way inbound links. How much better is an article - with 700 to 1200 words displaying your expertise than a so-called "reciprocal link" gained by begging for it by sp*mming, er I mean, sending mass unsolicited emails to unrelated sites? (I'm stunned that anyone still uses that technique as it seems to me to be the equivalent of begging for links on street corners.)

It is inconceivable that experts writing on specialized topics will ever be penalized by search engines because many niche sites reproduce their expert advice & commentary in newsletters, web sites and blogs. Search engines would face an insurmountable problem in flitering legitimate expertise and commentary simply because it is popular and made available for use on multiple industry blogs and niche sites

Your articles are no less valuable to the web community because they are syndicated and that appreciation is displayed clearly when they are used extensively across multiple web sites. Write on article marketers.

So you want to be an Internet Marketer? You want to be your own boss. You want to set your own hours and work from the comfort of your own home, no matter where in the world you choose to live. You simply want the freedom working on the web gives you.

Realistically, the only major obstacle in your way is a good solid training or education in how online marketing really works.

So just how does one earn a living online?

No doubt you have heard all the over-hyped stories of how some nearly comatose dim-wit with just a few functioning brain cells makes a financial killing online. Or how some geeky high school kid working on a computer in his parent's basement, cracks the formula for making big bucks on the net.

However, if you can dismiss all the bogus claims and see through all the marketing hype, you will find thousands upon thousands of very ordinary people quietly working on the web and making a very decent living from the comfort of their own homes.

All of them had to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to become part of this new cyber workforce. Each one had to obtain a good education or training in order to make the web work for them. They had to discover the techniques and methods of making a website or online business produce revenue 24/7/365, earning income automatically even while they're sleeping.

Article Marketing 101 - The Complete Steps To Getting Started

Article marketing is one of the very best ways that you can market your business. Some time ago I was looking for another way to do this besides search engine optimization. What primarily appealed to me about this method is that it is free and that the leads convert up to ten times better than leads from other sources. In this article I would like to go over the basics that you need to do to succeed with this method.

As a famous sales trainer once said people buy from people that they like, know and trust. This is one of the big challenges that you will face online. People only buy from other people that they trust. So if you are using ppc, ezine advertising or banner advertising your leads may not trust you. Consequently this will make it very difficult for you to monetize your traffic.

However, if you are using articles in your marketing then it is very likely that people would have read several of your articles before clicking through to your web site. This ultimately means that your leads already like what you have to say and this is what increases the chances of them making a purchase from you.

Choose a tightly focused niche market. The narrower the market the greater that your profits will be. Write articles based on this market. Choose a killer title as this is very important to actually get people to read your article. Write the opening and closing paragraphs next as these are the easiest to do first.

Brainstorm ideas for the body and make bullet points containing these. Expand each idea and bullet point to complete a full paragraph. Check your work for spelling and grammatical errors. Finally, submit it to the major directories for massive exposure.

Are you really interested in driving massive traffic to your website?

Increase Links Naturally With Link Popularity Building (LPB)

Businesses can gain a competitive edge with Google and other significant search engines through relevant link building strategies. The search engines track links in ranking algorithms while crawling the Web. It is advantageous to grow the number of incoming links to your companys site alongside effective search engine optimization techniques.

There are numerous link building solutions.

1. Free and paid link directories
Link directories all provide either one-way or reciprocal links. Some are free, while others are paid only. Link directories are beneficial because Websites that place your link on their site without requesting a link back to their site are considered more valuable than reciprocal or link exchanges, in the eyes of major search engines. There are many reputable directory sites that are well trafficked by potential buyers for your product. You will find one-way and reciprocal link directories by typing into any search engine search box, keywords like submit a link, add a URL, or add link.

Some small business owners will only link to sites that link back to their site. This creates reciprocal links pages and triangular link patterns. Reciprocal links do not improve a Websites rankings, and should only be done to give value to your site visitors. This is not a savvy SEO tactic or a wise link building practice. Stay clear of SEO companies who use these link exchange strategies; they are not considered real SEOs by other professionals in the field.

2. Business Blogging
This is an ever growing Internet trend gaining in popularity with businesses corporate blogs. Blogging started as personal spaces for individuals to share their thoughts and the events around them, like an online diary. Corporate blogging is then defined as another way to publish business-related content and gain more visibility for your company on the Web. By offering information and sharing knowledge, a company can quickly establish itself as a leading industry expert, get information to customers quickly, increase sales, attract journalists seeking news releases, and attract new customers looking for relevant information.

3. Article Directory Submissions
Article directories are sites that house free reprint articles, allowing authors (people like you) to become known as experts in a field or industry. These sites help authors gain one-way link popularity because others seeking free articles to reprint on their newsletters, Websites, blogs and in print can find them here. Reprint articles can only be used elsewhere if providing a link back to the authors Website. You also receive free advertising and promotion.

4. Press releases
Submit your companys news releases to sites like PRWeb.com and PRNewswire.com to allow journalists and bloggers to find important information about your company, its products and services. These releases also build links to your site, and attract attention from prospective buyers.

5. MySpace.com
This is a tremendous opportunity for free publicity, through networking with prospects from around the world. Place your business profile, your company logo and business pictures, commercials and videos, write comments on other myspace.com profiles, receive email, instant message, and search for prospective clients. MySpace.com also has a business section that is cost effective and a great way to share your business with people searching for a certain product or service. This is another way to increase your link popularity.

6. Yahoo! Answers
This site is relatively new, and lets people in all industries become an expert in their fields. Answer questions in categories related to your expertise. Choose a subject from an extensive list of categories. Create a profile on Yahoo!, and you get to list up to 3 other one-way links. Yahoo! Geocities offers free a Website template and tools to build a simple Website. All these avenues add a host of easy ways to increase link popularity for your business.

7. One-Way Links on other Business Sites
Even with these link building strategies, having one-way links are considered much more valuable than link exchanges, also called reciprocal links. One way links from other related business sites or blogs with pertinent subject matter to the Website is an excellent way to drive traffic to your site. Although it is time consuming asking other sites to link to your site, these methods will assist in building stronger link popularity interest among the major search engines.

8. Business Networking Sites
FastPitchMedia.com and LinkedIn.com are two business networking sites that give professionals and business executives many resources under one place. These one-stop shops give professionals a lot of excellent exposure for free, by housing a database of business owners linked to each others online networks. Try something new! Create a profile through these sites, and you will reach other decision makers, stay in touch with others in your network, fill a key position, and keep contact information current.

Finding Quality Link Partners

Every webmaster knows the importance of incoming links to a site to boost traffic and search engine rankings. But how do you find good quality sites that will link to you?

I recently came across an article that explains how to search for quality link partners on Google. According to the article this technique has become old hat to many search engine optimization experts but its new to me. Maybe I have not been doing my homework.

Simply use one of the following search techniques replacing the "keyword Phrase" with the keyword you want to associate your site with. The key word phrase is the key because you want sites that are of the same subject matter as your own to link to you. Try using the key phrase that you want your site to be found by when someone does a search. Also be sure to use that same key phrase in all your link titles.

  • 1. intitle:add+url "keyword phrase"
  • 2. intitle:submit+site "keyword phrase
  • 3. intitle:submit+url "keyword phrase"
  • 4. intitle:add+site "keyword phrase"
  • 5. intitle:add+your+site "keyword phrase"
  • 6. intitle:directory "keyword phrase"
  • 7. intitle:list "keyword phrase"
  • 8. intitle:sites "keyword phrase"

I used the above examples and came up with 100s of potential link partners all who have good page ranks with Google. You want to make sure that the pages your links will appear on have a Google PR or your link will not be found when the Google spider comes crawling.

Sean Mize - Underground Article Marketing Excellence Part 2

As a List Building Superstars (LBS) speaker, Sean Mize stuck to the same straight-ahead approach that he uses in his own e-mail correspondence, sales letters, and teleseminars. A style undoubtedly welcomed by listeners often jaded by fast-talking self-promoters.

Sean's Three Strategies for Generating Article Marketing Content.

1. Volume, Volume, VOLUME!

Mize is unwavering in his call for large quantities of quality articles that merit placement in the best e-zines. Therefore, set aside 2-3 hours for uninterrupted writing every day, plus another 2-3 hours for article submissions to the directories.

2. Adding Back Links through Article Submissions.

By tracking purchases of his information products, Sean discovered that traffic generated through articles converted best. So, the message is clear - give motivated readers the information they seek, and they are more likely to become buyers and repeat customers. Like many marketers, Mize uses free giveaway reports to attract list subscribers.

3. Stick to the Basics.

Sean Mize's formula for article marketing success is simple: Produce 20 original articles weekly, and have the patience to let them percolate up the directory and search engine rankings. Mize is definitely anti-Private Label Rights (PLR). He opposes reused and slightly altered content on the grounds that they do not work for the reader nor the marketer looking for traffic. Search engines flag duplicate articles, and consequently do not rank them.

Even if they did work, it would be an unfair manipulation of search engine rankings. The articles most likely would be poorly written, aimed at robots instead of human beings.

Words of Caution...

Sean noted that expanding broadband technology is making it harder for Internet Marketers to capture, hold, and retain a prospect's attention. There is a lot of readily-accessible stimuli (i.e. audio, video, graphics, podcasts, etc.) and users no longer have to wait for one download before moving on to the next thing. So, offer incentives for users to opt-in to your list, even at the risk of attracting too many "tire-clickers".

Article marketing is definitely not for everyone. Experience shows that only a small percentage of people have the discipline to carry out such a "ruthless" writing campaign and make it succeed. Furthermore, marketers who crave speed probably have a skill set oriented towards other areas (e.g. Pay-per-Click (PPC)).

Mize suggests that we get to know potential joint venture (JV) partners as people first before making a commitment, article marketing-related or otherwise. Also, be selective about what affiliate products and programs to promote. Affiliate marketing, by definition, removes a lot of personal risk. However, your reputation will be determined by the recommendations you make to subscribers.

What it Really Takes...

Writing-oriented marketers should welcome the idea that you can succeed online without state-of-the-art graphics, a killer app, or a significant advertising budget.

However, the amount of articles demanded by Mize's formula for success raises some questions:

1. What role should "ghostwriting", i.e. paying someone to write original articles for you, play for a serious article marketer?

2. Does Sean personally use services like elance and getafreelancer? If so, what percentage of his articles are "ghost-written"?

3. Can you really control the originality and quality of outsourced writing? Is it really any better than PLR articles?

This is the age of globalization, and outsourcing is a fact of life in all fields including Internet Marketing. At the very least, even prolific authors need to consider the ghostwriting option and its implications.

Conclusion.

Sean Mize is an articulate speaker who is quite direct about why he is successful. His online business tactics are transparent, and neatly tie together all three core Internet skills:

Traffic generation through article marketing to build a monetizable opt-in list that is ready, willing, and able to purchase information products...

How To Build An Optimized Inbound Link Network!

One of the secrets to building a reciprocal link network is by increasing the number of links pointing to your website. Incoming links to your website are important to search engines and are used to help determine your page rank. The more incoming links you have, then the higher your website is placed in Googles search results.

What most people do not know is that not all incoming links are given the same weight, and that the incoming, non reciprocal links are given more importance.

They are many ways to get inbound links to your site without having to give out reciprocal links or put out alot of cash. Here are just a few ideas.

* Good website content. You must make sure that your website is full of useful, informative content. When you have a lot of relevant content other website owners will want to link to your website because it will be a great resource to them and their visitors. Some examples of good content are ebooks, a newsletter, tools and software, free articles, tips that are related to your website, and a blog that is updated daily with new material.

Search engines and directories try to locate the websites that offer something valuable and unique to the Internet. People actually link to sites simply because they find the content useful.

* Testimonials. If you happen to find an interesting, informative website then send a testimonial to the website owner. They may give you a link to your website if they post your testimonial on their website. These links all add up and are important for search engine ranking.

* Online Directories. There are many online directories that you can submit your website to. This helps with getting inbound links to your site. Some of the directories require you to pay or provide a reciprocal link. But, there are many online directories that will accept your submission for free and with no reciprocal link.

Just do some research to determine which ones are free, or if you have the extra cash, go ahead and pay up (or you can send some my way).

* Content Articles. One of the best ways to get inbound links to your website is through article marketing. Interesting, informative, professionally written articles with the appropriate content can provide you with targeted traffic and high quality permanent links to your web site.

It is very important that your articles contain your targeted keywords and that they read well!

You can submit articles to websites, ezines, and article directories. An easy way to get your article published is to go to Google or Yahoo groups and do a search for "Internet Articles Publishing". Get involved with some of the groups, this will allow you to find websites that are looking for articles.

Do not forget to put information about yourself, with a link to your website in the resource box of the article, as this will open up the potential for many inbound links to your website. Articles can be the most time consuming of link building tasks when you take into consideration the time it takes to write and submit the article. A helpful tip is to make sure you add the locations of the article submission sites to a folder in your "Favorites". This will save time when you go to submit new articles.

* Free Ebook. Alot of people think that ebooks are hard to write and could take a long time to put together, but you can actually create one in no time. You can make it a collection of your favorite tools, resources and articles that are related to your website. As long as the ebook is considered useful by your visitors then they may link to your website for a copy or agree to offer your ebook on their website. Make sure you include links to your website in the ebook.

* Blogs. Combining a link-building campaign with blogs will give you alot of exposure for your business or program. Blogs are another tool that many entrepreneurs are using to produce great results. Because Blogs are updated with content on a regular basis they tend to rank higher then normal websites.

What most people don't realize is that Blogs are free and take just a few minutes to set up!

The easiest way to get inbound links with blogs is to simply host one on your website and update it frequently. Blogs are linked to more often because the content is being constantly updated. You will also get more inbound links with blogs when you submit it to blog directories. Do a search on Google for "free blog directory" and you will find many directories that you can submit to for free.

* Host a free article directory. Why not create an article directory on your website and have visitors submit articles to it? You can then request a link back to your website in exchange for the article submission. This will improve your inbound links while also creating free content for your website.

* Get listed in the major directories. Yahoo and the Open Directory Project are two of the most important directories at present. The Open Directory Project is free but it can be difficult to get a listing approved because they only list sites with original content that do not have alot of affiliate links. Inclusion in the Open Directory Project and Yahoo is well worth the effort and will be very helpful in boosting the standing for your site in search engine results.

There are also many smaller directories that are set up for particular areas of interest. Getting listed in them will take some time, but persistence will pay off, not only in your search engine page ranking but in bringing targeted traffic to your website. A few visitors to your website that are interested in what you have to offer are more valuable then many uninterested visitors.

It is also important to make sure that any sites you link to are related to your topic. You can use search engines to find related sites, and by linking to sites that have a high page ranking in the search engines you will provide your site with more exposure.

Remember that non reciprocal links are more important for search engine ranking because they are not reciprocated (search engines can actually detect whether links are reciprocal) and they do not have to be monitored as reciprocal links.

Here's one last tip, do a search on the keywords that you want to improve your search engine ranking for. From these results use the domains of the sites that rank above your own, and go to Yahoo and enter, linkdomain:www.site that rank above yours.com. Contact the web sites that resulted from the linkdomain search and ask them to link to your site. Do this for each of the linkdomain searches.

The ideas above offer the most consistently over time and even though they may seem time consuming, are well worth the effort.

I wish you success in building your inbound link network, and even though it will take time and effort, done right, the rewards will be worth it!

Article Marketing - Announcing First Ways to Jumpstart Your Article Marketing

If you are seriously considering writing and submitting articles to publishing sites to promote your website and products on the World Wide Web, these tips can help you jumpstart your article marketing campaign:

1. You must know how to write. Unless you have the resources to hire ghostwriters, you must be able to produce articles that are easy to read, content-rich, flow well, and useful to your target market. Read popular articles that are currently posted on article submission sites and identify their strengths. You can use these to make your articles effective.

2. Sign up with major article submission sites. Today, there are hundreds of publishing sites but only few of them are receiving massive traffic. Some of these sites are EzineArticles, goarticles, and articledashboard. Make sure that you read each of their rules and terms of service so you can design your articles to fit their standards.

3. Write and submit your articles. Write about topics that are closely relevant to your products and services. You can also talk about issues that might be affecting your potential clients. Don't forget to create a powerful resource box to entice your readers to visit your website. Then, submit your articles to major publishing sites.

4. Track down the performance of your articles online. Constantly check the click through rates of your articles and monitor your website traffic if it is improving. If you are not getting your desired results, assess your marketing strategies. You may need to improve your content, submit more articles, or make your resource box more compelling.

5. Be patient. Don't fret if you are not receiving huge traffic during the first couple of weeks of using article marketing. It may take some time before you will see noticeable change on your page views. Just keep on writing and submitting your articles and you'll be sure to reap great rewards in a couple of months.

PLR Articles Don't Work!

Without fresh, unique content, your website is destined for second best. Or even failure. The search engines won't cater to it and visitors will be bored and click elsewhere. If you want high-quality, action-taking visitors, then you need the best in one-of-a-kind content.

Perhaps you're using free articles to flesh out your web pages. Maybe you've taken the next step and invested in PLR (Private Label Rights) groups, where you can use their content and sign your own name. This is great in that it's fast. But that's where the advantage ends.

When the search engines come calling, they will immediately notice that your articles look exactly the same as other articles they've seen all over the web. Yes, this means your PLR articles, too, unless you've changed them to make them unique. This lowers the score they give your website, which in turn lowers the placement you'll get when a search engine user types in your keywords. The lower the search engines results placement, the less chance your site will be seen. Studies show that almost all clicks on search engine results happen in the first three pages of the results, and most happen on the first page. Chances are, no one will ever see your site if, when they searched for your exact keywords, your site ended up on page 674 of the results!

The search engines like to keep a little mystery, so they never reveal exactly how they score websites they visit. However, many things can be ascertained from observation. One is that if a site contains content that is duplicated on other sites, like the article directory you got it from, its score is lowered significantly. Remember, too, that your competitors are searching the same article databases and may be using the exact same articles you are. That won't give you a competitive advantage! You need unique content to get your score raised and your website shown on the first page. There's no way around it.

Fortunately, this isn't as hard as you may have led yourself to believe. Here's a method that will give you great unique content without tearing your hair out researching and writing from scratch. First, find an article you'd like to use, if it wasn't already out there. Now, simply rewrite it. Read the first paragraph. Read it again, until you've digested the content and understand it completely. Put the article aside. Rewrite the paragraph you just read in your own words. Move the second paragraph and repeat. Continue until the article is finished. You now have unique content that will be fresh meat to the hungry search engines. Higher scores, better results rankings, and better and more targeted visitors result.

Writing unique content brings in free, targeted traffic. This is a skill every Internet marketer learns to master. If you haven't yet, it's time to take that first step. Try the method outlined and see how easy it is. Don't forget to use that spell checker! Congratulations on taking your first steps to being a writer!

Internet Marketing and List Building - Make Money Using Other People's Lists

What's your niche? I mean, what topic do you want to be list building around? Deciding that is the most important thing for you to do in the Internet marketing world, and that's before you do anything else.

So, what's your passion? What do you love to do in your free time? What have you studied the most about? What subject is something that you just can't get enough of and could live with for a long time to come? Once you decide that, things can move forward. Find some other people in that niche, who know something about marketing, whether it's Internet marketing or direct marketing, and who have lists of subscribers and books or products to sell. Then, ask them if they'd be willing to participate in a teleseminar series.

You might be into sports, for instance. So, what sport in particular? Say golf. OK... You'll probably find some webmasters with sports sites, or even best selling authors who you can contact about golf. So, you ask them to promote your teleseminar series to their lists, and then, on the thank-you page, which will come up after someone opts-in for a ticket to your series, you'll sell some kind of golfing product and your speaker gets the affiliate commission on that. You do a series of teleseminars like that, and Bam! You're in business. That's how Internet marketing works best.

Then, at the end of each call, you're selling your guest's product or book through an affiliate link. Right? They're making money, and you're list building plus you're making money from sales of his or her product. You're also making a set of recordings about golfing, and they can be interviews about things you already know or things you don't know. It doesn't matter.

You say, "I know a lot about golf, but we'd like to interview you to learn about your expertise in back swings or equipment, or whatever, and ask you questions about that." Or, you'll say to them, "I'm don't really know a lot about this golf product, so I'd like to ask you some questions so we can all learn more. Can you give me a basic understanding?" and you're rocking and rolling.

About 10 or 12 people will make a good series. You want them to have lists and products that you can sell on the call. Then, get them to promote the series to their lists. I did it that way in the beginning, and it's probably the best way to get started with Internet marketing and the fastest.

Then, when all your people are lined up. go over to ClickBank or Commission Junction and find at least four products involved with golfing. Then, buy them. You'll need to read or use them to be sure they're good products because you never want to offer a crappy product to your list. When you have these four products, then put them into the autoresponder series you've set up for people signing up for your list, and you'll make money. As time goes by and the people on your list come to trust you more and more, you can offer them more and more, and the more money you'll make. Internet marketing is very powerful in this way.

Actually, Internet marketing is pretty simple. Set up interviews with experts in your niche. You're list building as they mail out about the teleseminar series to their lists, and you're offering products in the series, an in your autoresponder series and make money. Making money with Internet marketing is really pretty simple when you think of it in this way.

Build Links with Blog Comments

Relevance and Link Popularity are two main things we take into account when building links to our website. This means that we are looking for web pages that are relevant to the theme of our site and have high link popularity. Where is the best place to find those pages? Social Networks.

You can visit most popular bookmark sites, for example digg, and use their search to find what you want. You can enter the keywords like "link building" and the search will show you a lot of blogs related to your keywords. Then sort the blogs by the most diggs. You'll get a page filled with stories that have been made popular based on the topic you're looking for and chances are they'll all have hundreds (if not thousands) of inbound links to that particular page alone.

You open a blog that has more diggs and see if it is the one you can leave a comment on. Since the comments system has been introduced, it's very simple to write a comment. When you submit a comment on other people's blog, you are usually asked to provide your name, email address, URL and comment text itself. Did you catch the idea? Yes, you use your keyword anchor text as your name. When your comment is posted, your URL is attached to the text you entered in the "Name" field and voila... you have one more backlink to your website. For example, instead of typing "Julia" as your name, type "Directory Submission Software", or whatever your site's top keywords are.

And... be sure to write something useful in the comment section, so it doesn't look like 100% spam. Post a comment only if you have something of value to add to the discussion and not just to get links. Your comment will be pending for approval and blog owners are much more likely to approve your comment if it is relevant. Remember, the only cost of your new backlink is a comment. So, take a few moments to write a meaningful comment. Note that you may not insert any links into the text of your comment because you already have a link in your name.

The key thing is to add a good comment. Most webmasters understand that people make their "name" something relevant to their site and they do not begrudge them a link if their comment adds to the content/discussion on their site. You can read the comments which are already posted by others and follow suite.

Many blog owners don't like to see keyword links in the comment "Name" field and will promptly delete the comments. Thus, you can use something like "Julia - Directory Submitter" as your name. That way it's still personal, but you get your keywords in the link. Other blog owners may not like the link in the name and will remove it.

The lesson here is that you can get quality inbound links from blogs if you're willing to do the work. Do not forget to visit every blog you posted your comment on and check if the comment was approved and if everything is in place (your name and link). This way you will discover the blogs where your comments are worth posting.

Once you find the blogs that allows you keep those kinds of comments, you can greatly reduce your workload by posting only to those blogs.

I've just scratched the surface in the article presented. You can find a lot more valuable information about how to increase your site popularity by building quality one way links here: Link Building Guide

I've got a blog called "SeoCombat's Internet Marketing Blog" that focuses on methods to increase traffic from Google and on link building tips.
