SEO Copywriting: What is It?

SEO Copywriting, or search engine copywriting, is the art of combining the right search terms relevant to your product or service, with the right math - the algorithms used by Google, MSN, Yahoo!, etc.

SEO Copywriting is a combination of art (the words) and science (the math) resulting in website copy which produces actual, not perceived results. Knowing the "math" and "structure" preferred by the search engines is the first component to successful SEO copywriting.

Knowing what keywords your audience is searching for, and which keywords are making your competition succeed is crucial. Forget about what YOU think -- it doesn't matter and no one cares! Use a comprehensive analysis tool like WebCEO to strategize and track your results.

Divide your keywords up into three tiers, write them out in three separate columns if you have to and see which individual words "piggyback" on each other. Follow the searcher's behavior, combine terms, go against the grain when copywriting for SEO.

For example: You want visitors seeking "Google Page Rank"

You begin the process:
(1) Keyword Research
(Keyword Set, # of Daily Searches,Competition - # of indexed pages)
Google Page Rank,less than 10,31,200,000
Google PageRank,173,51,500,000
GooglePageRank,761,331,000

This analysis shows that when choosing the Keyword to use in your website pay close attention to search behavior, and for that matter in the content in your press releases and alt-tags, your best bet is to choose the keyword set that provides the greatest number of searches with the least amount of resistance.

(2) SEO Copywriting Techniques. Bold and italicized words carry more weight with the search engines.

(3) Keyword Density is important as well. Try to target 3-5 important keywords and use them liberally throughout your page (5-7 times), don't forget to create a separate page for EACH keyword set, rotating secondary keyword sets throughout the site. Not to brag, but Kaboodle Venture's index page is a good example: keywords Affordable SEO , Organic SEO and SEO Specialist are the targets - not all tier 1 keyword sets, but dovetail nicely, if not a bit overdone! This is a new site and went to page 2,2 & 3 respectively almost overnight on MSN.

(4) Don't get too caught up in SEO Copywriting tactics and forget that your content needs to be informative, engaging and most importantly provide compelling calls to action.

We often forget when SEOing, that somebody actually reads our sites and formulates a buying decision. All the SEO in the world doesn't help if you don't provide calls to action and available points of purchase. It's all about Browsers into Buyers.

Happy SEOing!

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is

Joint venture giveaways, better known as JV giveaways, are events where a group of internet marketers get together and contribute products to giveaway for free. The products are mostly internet marketing related and can be e-books, software, website graphics, videos, and even memberships to various websites. Giveaways are a great place for newbie marketers to fill their virtual "toolbox" with valuable information and scripts at no cost. That is all fine and dandy, but what do the contributors get out of it?

They get to add a new subscriber to their auto responder every time some one downloads their free gift. This is where the list building happens. When a person joins as a member, aka non-contributor, they are able to download all of the gifts that have been donated which are listed on a website. The gifts are listed with a photo, a short description, and a download link. The link will take you to a landing page, which is known as a "squeeze page" in internet marketing lingo. You will have to fill in your name and email address in order to download your gift. Simple enough, right? Well here is where it gets interesting.

Some of the JV giveaways that I have participated in have had over 200-300 contributors. That is an awful lot of free products. The important thing to realize is that all of those JV partners are promoting the same website that contains your product. There are contributors that already have huge opt in lists and the giveaway scripts monitor everyone's affiliate link. If you are not promoting your affiliate link, your product is removed from the JV giveaway. This guarantees two things: lots of promotion and lots of traffic.

If you are the beginner who has a very small list or no list at all, you get to leverage the traffic that is being driven to the website by every JV partner. Where else could a newbie get this much traffic without paying a dime? Now multiply that traffic by participating in multiple JV giveaways and you have some serious list building going on. But the savvy marketer doesn't stop at just building your list. Why not send your prospect to a "one time offer" before they download their gift? One time offers are known to convert well when done properly. This way you actually make money while building your list!

Now all JV giveaways are not the same but most have some kind of mechanism built in to make sure the gifts are of high quality. The truth of the matter is, if you give away something that is an old oversold PLR product, nobody is going to download it and your results will reflect this. Give away a good quality gift and you will see awesome results. If you don't have your own product to giveaway, don't worry. There are lots of places to pick up fresh, new, quality PLR products. As a matter of fact, JV giveaways are an excellent place to pick up just what you need to get started.

The internet stores a massive amount of information and much of that is in text. To find quality content to return for search queries the search engines look for sites with test content and the more the better.

If you have ever wondered why your website is not receiving any traffic, you are probably looking for a way to increase it. Most webmasters on the internet are because they realize that traffic is what will make their site a success.

You should consider taking a two pronged approach to building links. The first method for building links is through submissions of your site to quality webs directories. Every link you get to your site is not only a vote in popularity, but also a doorway for traffic. Every quality link you can get through directory submissions will bring more relevance to your site.

How you can use article marketing.

The first way you can use article marketing is by going to article directories. If you can't write your own unique content (which is preferred) for your site, you can use the content from article directories to place on your site for content as long as you retain the authors resource box. You need the content there for the search engines to spider when they visit through all the linking pathways you created when submitting your site to quality web directories.

As we covered the internet contains a massive amount of information and people search for it every day. The more links you have pointing to your site and the more content you have on it relevant to your sites niche, the better you will rank for search engine queries.

Another way to use article marketing is by writing your own unique articles on topics related to your websites niche and submit them for publication to the best article directories. These articles will create some links to your website to increase its popularity and with each link comes another doorway for traffic to find you.

When you write and publish these articles, you are also letting the public know you have expertise and knowledge on the subject. To get the reader's attention, give them a quality, well written article filled with information.

Build links through quality directory submissions to increase your sites popularity and create doorways to traffic and search engines. Then use article marketing to provide quality on site content for the search engines to spider when they arrive. The more quality web directories you submit your site to, the more articles content you provide on your site and the more articles you submit for publication on article directories, the more search engines will love your site.

These are some of the key elements to creating traffic and building a successful website. You can have the best website on the internet, but without proper promotion your visitors will never find you. If they do not find you, they cannot use the services that you provide.

Now it is time to get started.

Article marketing is one of the most powerful ways to promote your online business. It does not only allow you to generate more traffic to your site but more importantly, it gives you the opportunity to show your expertise to your potential clients. If you want to accelerate your article marketing, these 6 first methods are definitely for you:

1. Learn the ropes of article marketing. Continuously update yourself with latest innovations and breakthroughs that can help you improve your article marketing strategy. You can easily do this by reading articles or tutorial to learn a thing or two about this strategy. Remember, you cannot afford to miss valuable information about article marketing because it can make a big difference on your projected result.

2. Master the art of writing a killer resource box. Your resource box must have the ability to make your readers visit your website, buy your offering, or sign up on your e-mail list.

3. Never resort to article spinning software. While these are great tools in creating different versions of an article, they are not suitable to be used in article marketing. Remember, your potential clients would like to read something that you personally wrote and not articles that just repeat the information you presented on your previous articles. Also, this software cannot guarantee the quality of your articles and this can greatly affect your objective in showcasing your expertise to your potential clients.

4. Submit articles on a regular basis. Make your presence felt by regularly posting quality articles that are useful to your potential clients.

5. Direct your visitors to appropriate web page. Depending on your call to action, the link posted on your resource box must direct your readers to where they can do what you want them to do. You can either direct them to your squeeze page or product page.

6. Make sure that your articles are of high-quality. The success of your article marketing campaign will largely depend on the quality of your articles. To succeed in this endeavor, make sure that all your articles are well-written and useful to your potential clients.

You won't find many article marketing secrets being given away online, because very few people properly understand the power of this internet marketing tool. It is more than simply a way of getting links back to your website, but a very powerful tool that if used properly can increase your sales to another level.

If you are provided with 'secrets' then they are well known by almost everybody. I will admit that even the 'secrets' I am about to divulge are not secrets at all, but well known article marketing techniques. However, what I will also say is that the three provided here are neither appreciated nor used by all of those that profess to be marketing 'gurus'.

I know that because I have purchased many of their books and they don't suggest what I suggest: I know my systems work and can prove it through my website listings. However I must stop because I am becoming dangerously close to advertising, but I have done so as to indicate about the maximum you can do on article directories to advertise yourself: and that is your free tip. Do not advertise in your articles if they are intended for submission. Leave that for your 'author's resource box'.

The most common purpose for people writing articles and offering them to directories for publication is to get those all-important back links from the directories. However, just stand back a bit and think why the directories are in existence. It is not for your benefit. It is not to provide you with a free means of improving your Google PageRank, but they exist to make money. And why not? Otherwise there would be no point in anybody offering an article directory to all of these online writers.

You don't pay to have your articles published on the directories, so what is their purpose? How do these people make money? Two ways in fact: the first is by means of AdSense. If you do a search for an article on a specific topic, you will certainly find one because articles have been written on every topic on the planet. On the same page you will find AdSense ads. The reason for this is obvious and also psychological.

It is because most articles are not worth reading, and visitors generally have a quick look at them before leaving the directory site to seek proper information on their topic or niche. That is when they are liable to click on the AdSense ads and make money for the directory owner. That is added to the second way they make money which is from payment for speeding up the listing of the articles. You've seen the thing: get listed in several weeks or pay a few dollars for an instant listing. Like most other serious marketers, I pay.

Whichever means they use, article directories realize that it is to their advantage to get high search engine listings for as many articles as possible. They then have their sites visited by as many people as possible, and also have writers use them. That provides them with more visitors to click the AdSense ads and also as an inducement to other budding authors who might pay for listings. I don't pay for a listing in a site that never displays my articles on Google.

Here are three secrets or tips, that you can use in your own article marketing campaigns:

Secret #1 is that if you write the article on a topic related to the content of a page on your website, then the directory (and by that I mean the owner, but let's call it 'the directory' for simplicity) will do all the SEO work and get your article listed so as to get as many visitors as possible. That earns them money. What that means to you is that you get free SEO done on your article.

Why do you think that your articles have to be of a minimum length and of a certain standard? To be listed by search engines, especially Google, that's why. You can use this information to your advantage, but your articles must be at least 500 words. Your resource URL must be one related to the article, and if you make it your blog, that is even better. Place links on your blog to all your other relevant online ventures.

Secret #2 is not really a secret as a submission technique. When you have finished writing your article save it and submit it as a text file. Most people write using Microsoft word, or some other word processing software that uses their own formating code embedded in the article. You don't see it, but the search engines do and it could harm the listing of the directory web page containing your article.

Secret #3 is that many sites offer two or three links in the author's resource. That allows you not only to present links to two or three pages on your website, but also that these links need not all be from the same site. You could provide a link to a page relating to the article (as you always should), one to one of your other websites or Squidoo lens, and a third to your blog URL. Never ignore these possibilities. Open up your mind.

There are several more article marketing secrets that I could give you but that would render this article far too long. You might also require some elementary HTML instruction to provide you with a working knowledge: HTML, or hyptertext mark-up language, is not really a computer language but a means of linking text to files, and it can also be used to format text, graphics and tables on websites and any other medium that can read HTML and transfer it to the intended visual formating.

However, the above secrets are sufficient allow you to use them as SEO techniques that will improve your chances of a high search engine listing. Learn them and use them, and even if you think that they seem fairly elementary I bet my bottom dollar that nobody is using all of them in their article marketing campaigns, because most people are still thinking in mono as far as article marketing is concerned and have to reach the analogue stereo age let alone digital.

Get modern and look farther than you can see, or the internet kids will soon gobble you up for breakfast! Yesterday's techniques are today's tomorrow.

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

Just over 6 weeks ago I set up a couple of new blogs. With one of these blogs I intentionally did not build in any links at all to the blog. I used blogger to set up the blog and allowed blogger to send pings. So Google would be aware of the site, but what would happen?

I've posted to the blog two to three times per week, using a mixture of articles and my own thoughts. Since then I've watched what pages Google has been showing and when it has cached them.

At the same time I also ran another blog, posted to at exactly the same time as the first blog and using the exact same micture of articles / new content. The only difference has been that this second blog has been linked to from a few other websites and blogs.

So what is the difference between them? Basically, the site with links has over half of the posts cached, which isn't brilliant. But then it's not posted to often. But on the whole, Google is caching the site about weekly.

But the first site, the one without any links, is hardly visited by Google. Since the day it went live Google has had the home page cached and quickly cached a couple of posts. For the first week the sites were treated pretty much the same. But within 3 weeks the linked site had a lot more pages cached and the difference has grown.

Now, 7 weeks since first posting and first link building to the second site, there is a massive difference. The none linked to site has not been cahced for 6 weeks, whereas the linked site has been cached within the week, and this seems to continue.

So there is a massive difference in how your site is treated depending on how many links you have incoming. Google may know about your site, but if the links aren't good, it's going to ignore you! So link building is not a total waste of time. It's not just about letting the search engines know that you exists, it's about convincing them that you are worth their processing time and getting them to visit the site to view and store updates.

Keep building links in, just make them good links.

Here's my philosophy on article marketing: The purpose of an article is to generate traffic. And it's very probable that more than half the visitors to an article don't even read it (though I hope you're not one of them!). Quality of your articles is important, and so is the quantity with which you write them and submit them!

When people click through on your articles, most will just click through to your site link in your resource box, decide to buy or optin or whatever it is, or just click away from your article. A very small percentage will even read your article. Maybe 1 in 10. That's 10 readers for every 100 visitors. And the title of an article is just as important than the content. You should be spending plenty of time crafting out a quality title.

I'd rather produce a good informative article that gets the point across than try to produce an article that will take hours to write. Some people have minds that race, and others can get in 30-50 words a minute. Some people have both. That's a lethal concoction for article marketing. If you can type very quickly and are already well versed in the topic, then you can crank out a 250-300 words article in 10 to 15 minutes without doing any research.

Most people write articles and when you read them, it reads like a textbook. You'd want to be conversational in your articles. Think about the most entertaining books you have read; more likely than not, the tone of the book was conversational. It was as if the author was sitting in a caf with you and having a lively discussion. That's how you want to write your articles!
