8 Steps to Make Money with Article Marketing

Fast article marketing is becoming a popular way for people to make money, and to increase hits on websites as well. For instance, many people write about their businesses, which attracts people to the website, but they can also sell the articles. Here are 8 steps to a fast article marketing strategy.

Step 1: Plan Your Words
You want to have as many people as possible want to read your article. Use common terms, explain what people may not know, and write well.

Step 2: Plan Your Article
Each article has a beginning, middle, and end. Many writers will write the middle first, then write two summaries, one for the beginning and one for the end. This follows the Introduction-Body-Conclusion format and is quickly done.

Step 3: Use Keywords Where Appropriate
If there is going to be any search engine action involved for your article, key your keywords in. Go for about 2-3% concentration.

Step 4: Finding Markets
You can either search the internet or get a membership to publications like Writers Market. The Writers Market is now in online form as well, ad searchable. Fast article marketing is much easier this way.

Step 5: Making Contact
Unless their guidelines say otherwise, always send a letter to the website or publication asking if they are interested in your article. Get information on how to write a good query letter.

Step 6: Write Well
If you just dont write very well, hire the work to be ghost-written. Just make sure its done right.

Step 7: Make Your Deadlines
If your fast article marketing has been successful and someone wants to buy your article, get it to them when you say you will.

Step 8: Follow Up
If you intend to make a living at fast article marketing, always remember to follow up with your clientele and pitch new ideas--one at a time.

However (and that is a big however!), if you use them purely for out and out traffic generation to your websites, you can get almost all your articles in the 3-digit zone easily. Many of my articles in other niches reach a 100+ page views after just a week or so and many others hit 300 or more page views.

The simple fact is this: articles in other niches away from the 'make money online' niche or 'Internet marketing' niche generate far more page views, which means far more traffic to your website. You'll also get far less sophisticated competition who are no well-versed in Internet marketing tactics!

So make use of this information to start marketing in niche markets if you haven't. I'm not saying don't sell to the Internet marketing niche (please do so if you have a quality product!), but venture into other niches where it is potentially a lot more profitable.

1. Submitting one article per week.

Actually, it's not really a sin, but you will not make a lot of profits except if nobody else write and submit articles in your niche.

One article will not make you a lot of profits.

2. Submitting to only one directory

If you only submit to a single directory, you will not get the exposure you deserve. Profit from leverage in every single thing you do.

3. Mass submission

I see that many newbies try to submit with articlemarketer or articlepostrobots.com. There is no need to do this.

Will this hurt your article marketing plan because of the threat of duplicate content?

No, I've submitted with those services as well and my articles still bring me traffic. Duplicate content is another issue that I will discuss with you later because it needs a more in depth analyze.

What are the exact steps for success?

You need to do the following:

* Write several articles a day. I suggest a minimum of two per day to start. If you can't or don't have the time, this tedious work can be outsourced.

* Submit to the top twenty directories. For obvious reasons, you need to outsource this part as well.

If you are on a budget, you need to do this yourself. I know it's not easy but it's how I started.

Article Marketing Secrets - Lead the Reader Right into the Resource Box at the End of Your Article

You want to lead the reader into your resource box to be successful at article marketing. This can be done in two simple steps.

Step 1 - Give good information and do it in a way that's conversational and inspires people. Write like you talk and make sure you offer at least on good gold nugget of actionable information.

Step 2 - Then in the resource box you then invite them back to your website or blog and exchange their email address for more great quality information from you. You don't even have to be salesy in your resource box. You just follow what I call my FIB formula:

Flow: The resource box flows out of the article body, because the resource box is the next paragraph in the article. Don't do what most article writers do and start the resource box with your name and qualifications. That is like shouting at the reader "The article is now over and you can stop reading now!"

Invite: You invite them back to your website or blog for more information. In internet marketing this is called a CTA or Call To Action. I like to think of it as an invitation, and I even word it that way.

Brand: You brand yourself by mentioning your name and the name of your business. You do this at the end just to make sure that the reader associates the good stuff they are getting with you and your business.

4 Article Marketing Mistakes you Should Always Avoid

Even though article marketing is one of the easiest methods of driving powerful traffic to your website, it is also very easy to do it the wrong way. The funny thing is that these mistakes are done by beginners and experienced article marketers. By avoiding these 4 mistakes, you will in turn create a very successful article marketing campaign.

Don't write boring headlines. Your headline is the entry point of all articles. What ever your headline says will be the ultimate reason for why should or should not click on it on order to read more. So think about it; if your headline has no sizzle to it, why on earth should the reader want to read further. Readers are people. A major part of what drives a person to take a certain action is their emotions. Give them something to be emotional about.

Don't write a headline that only contains the most generic keyword phrase. For example, if you were to write an article about the general issues of dog training, don't use the keyword phrase "dog training". Yes, you might get quite a lot of readers clicking to read further, but you will find that the click through ratio on the link pointing to your site in the bio area will be very low.

Also, the few readers that do enter your site will be hard to sell to. Why? Because you have no idea what they are looking for. All you know is that they entered your site because of the keyword phrase "dog training". The problem is that you don't know what exactly they want in the niche of dog training. They could be interested in "how to train my dog", or "how to teach dog training". We can go on forever.

Don't write on a subject that has nothing to do with the headline. The reader is looking for an answer or a solution. Don't betray the reader by not giving them what they want. If you do that, you will just annoy your "would be" prospect, and the only high click-through ratio that you will get from the reader is on the "back" button.

Reframe from writing "ego" and "written by " bio lines in the bio area of your article. This will not do anything for your click-through ratio on the link the points to your website. Instead, use your bio area to sell your website and product. Tell them to click on your link. Let them know why they should click on the link by giving your readers a list of benefits. This is the only area in your article where you are allowed to actually promote your website and product. So, why not use it well.
